This season was a bit of a dead one for me. Same usual pattern, watched more or less everything for an episode or two, ended up filtering my interests down to a couple of shows and then eventually forgot to watch them as my interest waned. the fact that I was up until 2 days ago having to ration my computer space (external HDD still in England, couldn't afford a new one) didn't help since I had to be more selective than usual.
Only thing I ended up finishing on time was Etotama, which was my dose of mindless sugar for the season. Just getting started on my end of season clean-up, finishing the stuff that ended up lagging behind, so it's to early for me to call AOTS yet.
In other news, there's a new episode of Angel Beats out. Special episode released with the BD box that came out in the 26th. Wish they would have put it in with the game as well, that should be delivered on Monday...
Anyway, that OVA answered a lot of questions. I've always wondered about the timescale of the series, exactly how long some of them had been in purgatory (things like the scale of guild made one suspect it had been a long time) and it's been confirmed now to have been several decades. Also, why GDM has such a weird name and a reason for Shiori and Miyuki to exist (the other GDM girls who get like 2 lines in the whole show).
One thing though, I'm not usually one for pointing and being all PLOT HOOOOOOOLLLLLLEEE!! at anything since I find most often plot holes are less a result of narrative failure and more a result of the viewers ignorance, but I do have to raise an issue with the episode though. At the end it's presented as a 'how GDM got it's name' thing, but since Otonashi is in it that conflicts with the events as defined by the *V series, since GDM was established long before the first episode...
