SAO is for casuals. A real neckbeard would be cosplaying YrYr or GuP.

I did that a couple years ago, not much goes into it really, unless you're doing the body suit. If not, black undershirt and pants, white collared buttoned-down short-sleeved shirt with the top button undone, tennis shoes (I did white ones) with black socks and a conservative hair style (i.e. straight and short) and you're good.
