Mmm... to be honest neither of them really seemed all that great to me, ive only seen the first episode of each though so im not a very good judge for them. Just dont really suit my genre preferences i geuss.
In addition to the discussion i was having a few pages back on the Umineko novels where i stated that there didnt seem to be a distinct difference between the novels and anime, i take that back in respect to volume 4. That said however, volume four had a really weird excetution since it made little differencation between 1986, 1998 and the witches realm...
confusedt he hell outta me half the time.
In respect to the new anime season, so far ive gotten through the firts episode of a few of them.
Oreimo, aside from its slightly scary title, looks like it will actually be a good series. The first episode reminds me alot of some a guy that i know (at least he sticks to games with highschoolers though...). Its funny and somewhat interesting to see the difference between east and west appreciation of this sort of thing.
Second MM!, if you find masochism funny, youll probally like this. If you dont or are indifferent and dont really enjoy seeing a guy get beaten senseless by women, then yeah... i get the feeling theres gonna be some sort of message concerning acceptance here.
Bakuman...Meh, cant say much about that. Anime about people who make manga have been done before, so something unuusual will have to happen to make it anything beyond mediocre.
Pan(t)y and Stocking with Garterbelt...WTF is this? pretty much the only way you can tell this is anime is the fact that its in japanese, since theres significant mimicry of western art styles. Really, this is like a japanese storyline + cartoon network animation + southpark humour. Still havent dicided wether its funny of stupid.
