I could never get into Hetalia. Probably the way it tried making facist dictatorships "adorable" while having lots of romance between them. Fine concept (comedic retelling of historical events) but I have my judgement about the execution.

Well, if you wanna waste 3- 4 hours of your lifw watching the same thing over and over again, be my geust. It may have worked in a written medium because you can change the way its written, but it dosent work when animated because you cant really do that and retain viewer interest.
Seriously, i challenge you to watch them all in marathon and keep your sanity.

As for hetalia, i reckon they should do a screening of that at the next united nations conference. I can imagine the comments of "hehehe, your countries *** for my country" and the world will enter into a new era of loving each other thanks to a bunch of preferentually ambiguous bishies.

I'm not going to further your point by defending western animation, but instead put an end to the notion that I have merely arrived here to criticize anime. So, I pose an inquiry based on anime of my own personal interest:
Which was the better mafia anime: Reborn or Baccano?

Mmm... to be honest neither of them really seemed all that great to me, ive only seen the first episode of each though so im not a very good judge for them. Just dont really suit my genre preferences i geuss.

In addition to the discussion i was having a few pages back on the Umineko novels where i stated that there didnt seem to be a distinct difference between the novels and anime, i take that back in respect to volume 4. That said however, volume four had a really weird excetution since it made little differencation between 1986, 1998 and the witches realm...
confusedt he hell outta me half the time.

In respect to the new anime season, so far ive gotten through the firts episode of a few of them.
Oreimo, aside from its slightly scary title, looks like it will actually be a good series. The first episode reminds me alot of some a guy that i know (at least he sticks to games with highschoolers though...). Its funny and somewhat interesting to see the difference between east and west appreciation of this sort of thing.
Second MM!, if you find masochism funny, youll probally like this. If you dont or are indifferent and dont really enjoy seeing a guy get beaten senseless by women, then yeah... i get the feeling theres gonna be some sort of message concerning acceptance here.
Bakuman...Meh, cant say much about that. Anime about people who make manga have been done before, so something unuusual will have to happen to make it anything beyond mediocre.
Pan(t)y and Stocking with Garterbelt...WTF is this? pretty much the only way you can tell this is anime is the fact that its in japanese, since theres significant mimicry of western art styles. Really, this is like a japanese storyline + cartoon network animation + southpark humour. Still havent dicided wether its funny of stupid.

Yosuga No Sora: O_o , just O_o , seriously. I could tell as soon as i saw some of the promotional artwork that this was going to be an anime adaptation of a adult visual novel, with the usual "standard male protagonist surrounded by girls" storyline.
Now, im sure most of us are familiar with why these gams sell and what content they have. Normally, that sort of thing gets edited out of the anime right. Not in this case.
25 minutes in and so far we've had implied yuri + a few other unmentionable things, as well as a slightly (extremely) twisted brother-sister relationship. Lets just say i had to turn the sound down on my compter very quickly a few times.
So uhhh,m yeah, this ones for the 15+ crowd
