That kingfisher is awesome.

We have them on our local pond. So maybe just maybe this year I'll get a picture of them.

I was hoping around this time I would have some flower shots of my garden. But sadly very few bulbs have flowered. Still not sure why. I suspect it's too wet for them.

Fingers crossed for next year.

Love the Kingfisher shots

One of those birds when you're out by water that you always hope to see even if it is just a blue flash

Thanks! There used to be quite a lot of them where I lived, and the place where I photographed them was rather popular (photographers came from different countries just to get a shot). Sadly they all seemed to have died previous winter, haven't seen or even heard one since :( But yeah, the blue flash is amazing, as that's all you really get to see when they fly around.

You have to be able to hide though (in a cabin or one of those pop up wildlife tents). Kingfishers don't seem to mind sound and talking all that much, but if they see movement they're gone :P You could also place some sticks in the water so they can sit and hunt from there, plus you can position the sticks so you can get a clear shot.

I forgot to say the orangy/pinky bit on the lower part of the beak is what you can use to identify it is a female as males are all black. not sure if that applies to juveniles off my head though

Spring is around the corner and more time for picture taking.

I love taking pictures of flowers and insects. Hopefully soon when my bulbs flower ( they are doing bad this year ) I can take more pictures.

I'm trying to get into Macro pictures. Very tricky to do lol. Very expensive too.

I took that before my dog crushed it a few days ago. Forgot to post it.

I'm not 100% happy with it as it looks out of focus. Even though it's auto focus camera it still looks funny.

Maybe I just need more practice.
