Years ago, I was down and out. Here's what I lived off of for a year:

Ramon noodles
Hamburger
Whole Chicken (cheaper than individual pieces)
Creamed soups
Canned vegetables

Divide the hamburger in to patties. Stack with parchment paper between them (or plastic wrap, anything to prevent the patties from sticking together) put into zip lock bags and freeze.

Cut up the chicken into pieces put in zip lock bags and freeze.

To cook a meal: Thaw the meat and cook. Make Ramon noodles, add meat, soup, and a can of veggies.

About 5 years ago, I found myself in a similar situation. I bought Ramon noodles by the box, different types of soup, frozen veggies and mixed them all together. If I could buy meat, I got cheap hamburger.

Find food pantries close to you. It's free food. Can't beat that! Towards the end of last year, I had 2 roommates who visited 3 food pantries every month. If they couldn't get any meat, then that's all I had to buy.

Cut out grocery coupons from the flyers.

If you don't have a job, then find one, even if you have to shovel excrement. Minimum wage is better than nothing at all.

Well if you won't lower yourself to eat "cheap cuts" of meat I'm afraid I have no sympathy for you being hungry.

There's billions of people who are on lower-end incomes who manage to feed themselves and their families on cheaper cuts of meat, all you need is a bit of imagination in cooking it to have a tasty and nutritious meal.
