I was playing an online Spades card game. My partner left and was replaced by a bot. The 3 of us continued playing. A player logged in and replaced the bot. We 4 were doing as much chatting as we were playing. My partner asked if she could add me to her friend's list. I gave her permission and I did the same.
We were online friends for a while and finally exchanged email addresses. We had a few things in common. We agreed on morals, standards, integrity, ethics, politics, religion and many other factors. She played the piano...I played the organ. She went to nursing school, but never pursued the career...I became a nurse. Well, the list goes on. We finally exchanged addresses and phone numbers. She lives in the north and I live in the south.
We were distance friends for about 10 years before we finally met each other in person, but not under pleasant circumstances. My Aunt was dying and I went up north to be with her. After her death, I called my friend. She lived about an hour from my Aunt's house (I was staying there). She came to console me. She and her husband come down here to see his mother every year. When she can, she comes to visit me. I've met her husband a few times. He seems to be a really great guy...not the jealous type, trusts his wife and knows I'm not out to break up 40 years of bliss. He prefers to stay with his aging mother while she comes to my house to visit for the day.
