I've never paid for someone's shopping in the supermarkets but I buy items every week for someone I know who is struggling. She can't afford to heat her small flat to a decent level so I reckon if I get her some groceries that's money saved she can use for heating. I'll also put things in the box for the local food bank.

The little things that make me happy include hearing birds sing, warmer weather signalling the start of Spring, the bulbs coming up in my garden, seeing my sons ( even if it is only on Zoom at the moment ) and my lovely husband bringing me a cup of tea when I'm playing Runescape. :) :)

I've been loving reading what you all have been saying - some great stuff! Thank you to all who have shared so far.

It got me thinking...could you imagine if more people were to live by the concept of 'paying it forward'. The amount of sheer exponential kindness that could be spread if society were to adopt this principle would be huge.

When the deliveryman for the online supermarket we're using due to Covid is not only cheerful and polite, but actually offers to help carry bags.

When a client makes a special point of complimenting my work.

When a neighbour drops round with samples of their latest cake baking, just because.

Wow Mr. Post Creator, I adore your energy! You, my friend, are a warm light for people surrounding you!

Well then can I say you creating this post and me finding it on a sleepless night is indeed a little thing that fills me?

I can't really classify it, I simply live. Even when I demand respect and humanity in the forums (which is very often), I feel that my heart wants people to truly become aware of themselves and break free from their limits, big or small steps. Guess lately I look for that, any tiny crack on cold, hard shells makes me happy, for them!

I used to commute to work by train every day and had a routine - I'd always get to the station early so I had time to buy coffee from a guy who had a mobile coffee stand.

One day I was late and missed him, so no coffee for me! Or so I thought...

I got to the ticket office as usual and the lady behind the counter recognised me (I'd been using the same station for years) and said: "No coffee? You always have a coffee in your hand when you buy your ticket".

I explained I'd arrived late and missed my chance. She replied "wait there a minute" then went into a room at the back of the office ... put the kettle on and made me coffee :)

A little thing, but a lovely, friendly gesture that really made my day.

This is actually so amazing.

I saw a few videos of people paying for other peoples groceries and often wondered what it would feel like. So the other day I tried it.

Was at my local supermarket shopping and an elderly woman was struggling to get her money out to pay for her shopping. So me being me stepped up and said " Let me get this for you " She just looked shocked and said " What " I just said I'd pay for your shopping and she said sure ok. Even the staff member behind the till looked at me funny. I just said my good deed for the day. I'll get it. So I did and then paid for my own shopping.

Now that lady was happy. It wasn't much but no one had ever done that for her. It also made me feel great inside. She said if it wasn't for covid she would have hugged me.

The staff member also said what a nice thing to do.

If I can help someone out everytime I go shopping I will as it's my good deed for the day.

If anyone is intested her shopping bill was only £6 something.

A similar thing happened to me. It was only a few days past payday. I had about $50.00 worth of groceries. I put my bank card in the reader and it was declined. I told the cashier that I had just gotten paid, so I know the money is in the bank. She gave me a side glance and pursed her lips a bit that said "Yeah, that's what they all say." I asked that she page the manager to see if my groceries could be set aside while I run to the bank. Just as she was about to press the "Manager" button, the man in back of me told the cashier to never mind, he would pay for the groceries. At first, I declined the offer, but he was very insistent. Finally, I agreed.

I went to the bank to report my card being declined. The bank manager looked at my card with a magnifying glass. He said that the magnetic strip was worn and scratched, that's why it was declined. The reader couldn't read it. I was issued a new card with a chip in it.

What keeps me going are a few sayings. At one point in my life I was going through a lot of trials and tribulations. I felt overwhelmed, depressed about what I was going through. It just seemed that everything I did was wrong. I had decisions to make and made some wrong ones.

A friend said, "Don't look at the light at the end of the tunnel. It is what it is and there's nothing you can do about it. Remember, "This, too, shall pass." This is just a temporary setback, and with your strength, you will come out of this smelling like the rose that you are. Another friend said, "Let go and let God" They were right. Finally, I made the right decision and in a few days my problems were solved. I felt like a ton of bricks were taken off my back.

Now, when I find myself down and out, I say to myself, "This, too, shall pass." and "Let go and let God." Meaning, let go of your problems and give them to God to handle. Once your mind is clear, the solution hits you right between the eyes and you wonder why you didn't think of that sooner.

I came back here (to forums) after a year and I've realized so much since then!
I've been unable to play like I did before as it's been a major turning point in many, many aspects of my life. First I changed my OS to Linux, making it really hard to run this game, secondly I switched lifestyles and am (about to) travel and live differently so I don't have schedules anymore but I still live pretty simply and with a lot of work ahead of me

I won't go on much about how I see now that I wanted people to be a certain way I found healthier and how I tied my well being with someone else's ... let's more say that distancing myself from the game in an addictive and unhealthy way now I enjoy and treasure moments when I do come and play and really find that joy, that spark I felt when I played around as a kid, without expectations and interacting freely with the game and people in it

I do enjoy leveling sure, it feels nice to do things! I assure you it's truly enjoyable when you do it because you want to, because you feel like focusing. It gets very dull if you do it on auto-pilot or self impose play

Thank you community for opening this space for expressing ourselves!
