I have a few suggestions to add onto the current triangle
These additions give new abilities to each class and really the aim is to restore
A more classic feel to combat. I personally miss the days where armor was of a loose translation and not a maker/breaker of your style and while those days are not returning I have a few suggestions to broaden and expand the triangle. I will break these into styles ie: melee expansion in melee, range in range and magic in magic.
Melee
Add the sling back but make it's damage scale off of strength it's accuracy could be based on the average between range and agility but could be capped at about 75%. I propose making it a crafted item and have tiers to upgrade it by adding leathers. Similarly to crossbow strings, the initial material used to craft the sling could vary from either rope, flax or wool reflecting the irl processes to create them. By adding tanned leathers you upgrade the tiers for base damage. The sling could function as it originally did with the ability to create bullets tiering as follows:
Base: up to t10, leather: up to t30, green: t40, blue: t50 on up to royal which would shoot elder rune bullets. Bullets would be made about 5 per bar and be optional to increase hit chance and damage. Damage formula for this would be strength level+ sling tier +ammo tier +1.
Slings would be usable in melee armor with no drawback allowing for hybridization vs magic users.
Magic:
Magic already has animate dead but I propose an expansion to staffs in general. Add the smack back! Give staves melee stats again and add an ability to change stance to deflect arrows and use the staff as a melee weapon! Sticks in history are honestly in many cases more deadly than swords so allow mages to smack rangers with their staff for BIG DAMAGE
To be continued....
