This sounds like a decent idea, I support.
Also, a thought - this could serve another important purpose: a GP sink. If you don't know, a "sink" is where money in a game leaves the economy permanently(dropped, taken by a NPC, etc.), a "rise" is where it enters(drops, quests, alching, etc.).
Too much rising and not enough sinking causes unstable economies, and is one of the problems with the economy today.
Just a thought.
