Aranel, In some ways I must agree with you.
In real life throughout high school and college I took every advantage of the educational advisers I had available to me. I could have spent countless hours solely researching the best path to achieve my educational and professional goals but instead I chose to get advise from the best folks I could find that had the best information available to them.
Now that I've attained those goals I could once again spend countless hours solely researching what to do with the earnings that my educational advisers helped me achieve, but I prefer to use financial advisers (very smart bankers).
Maybe this makes me a lazy brainless dip-****. But the fact is my time is very valuable to me and I'd rather pay a competent person to do these things FOR me so I have more time to do the things that I want to do.
I've earned it, I can afford it and therefor I want it.
This carries over directly to the time I choose to spend here on Runescape. I don't want to spend my time doing the things I've mentioned in the original post. I want to pay someone to do it for me so I can spend my time doing things I want to do. Once again, I've earned it, I can afford it and therefor I want it.
And of course it would make these things easier . Making undesirable tasks easier, and therefor more fun or less painful, is what drives our world economies.
I bought a car because I don't want to always walk, I bought a phone because I don't want to always yell or write, I bought food because I don't want to ever grow it or kill it, and I bought a house because I need a place to keep all the stuff that makes my life easier.
You are absolutely correct. I want this to be easier.
As far as the combat system, I personally couldn't care less about it. We all come to the game here for different reasons and my only concern for combat is that folks keep killing each other so I continue to have a demand for the things I gather and produce.
