Forums Need to be More Accessible

Did you ever notice how the average amount of active users in the forums at almost any time of day is about 3-5? I believe this is the case for several reasons, the first being player knowledge. I would say that it is appropriate to say that a good chunk of players either don't know that RuneScape has a forum or have assumed that the forums are dead at this point.

The next reason I think has to do with the Jagex Launcher and 2FA, it is quite annoying to authenticate each time you want to check on your posts, which for some may be multiple times a day. I think logging into the website should give the "Trust this computer for 30 days" option or if the RuneScape website is opened by clicking on an info tile within the Jagex/Runescape launcher you should automatically be signed into the website since you have already been authenticated to get into the launcher.

The final reason I think that the forums are severely underused, is because you have to go to the website, login, authenticate, etc. Where I think most players wouldn't want to view them even if all they had to do was open the web page. I think have the entirety of the RuneScape forums accessible directly within the Jagex Launcher would be a big reason for player to use it more often. Even having a forum board in game that lets you view and post in the forum without ever leaving the game would be an incredible incentive to use the forums.

I know to some this may seem like it's not that important and that the players that want to use the forums will. But I think it would be healthy for the game if more players knew about the forums or had easier access to voice their opinions or find topics they are interested in. Sorry for the rant, but let me know if you agree or maybe even have a better idea of how the forums could attract more players to use them.

I answered a similar question posted elsewhere a couple weeks ago based on my own discovery .

How I log-in is via opening up "clan details" in-game (social tab) and selecting the hyperlink from your clan's "Official forum:" area. From there, simply navigate to the Forums within the home-page and voila! Bypass the redundancy of the 2FA.

I do agree that at some point, hopefully in 2024, an employee would be greatly appreciated by many for bringing these forum boards up to par - even if it's just a long-term side project . - (Owner) Ornery Onions -

Thank you both for the information! I have been trying to be more active on the forums but having to verify multiple times per day gets old quick. I will try the methods you two have listed and cross my fingers they work for me too!

Also, I was unaware of the counter being inaccurate, that is good to know, I was under the impression that the forums were slowly dying just as I was trying to become more involved in them.
