I was fortunate enough to not be among the locked out, so I won't pretend to know how the people who have been affected these past few weeks feel.
I do, however, want to express my thanks to Jagex for how hard they've been working to fix this. This has, frankly, been a once-in-a-lifetime nightmare scenario for all involved, and I definitely don't envy the people who are trying to defuse it.
The resilience under pressure, the openness with the community, and the willingness to make this right that they have shown since this started has been admirable. Their actions today in particular have earned my respect. The idea of pushing out an update on Monday to appease those of us who have been able to log in but have gotten restless with the lack of new content, while misguided, was appreciated -- as is their willingness to backtrack on that idea once it became apparent that this would have been a mistake.
This whole situation sucks. There's no doubt about that. But I appreciate how Jagex has been trying their best to make it suck less.
