It is difficult to instil emotions on a player through the content they play; impossible to do without the music.

You guys did a terrific job in The World Wakes.

Thanks.

My favourite all time Runescape song is Scape Summon. That rendition of the main theme is just a masterpiece and I still remember the excitement of hearing it when summoning was released.

I have a feeling the next version of the iconic theme might take Scape Summon's place though, especially if it is anything like the small section heard in: The Origins of Gielinor.

I've listed my favs in a previous post, but I have just one more comment on the music:

In my opinion, it's very sad that you changed the dungeoneering music. I really preferred Born To Do This, it remains one of my absolute favourites, and now I can't hear it anywhere, unless I manually select it (which I do quite often, in fact)

That's just my opinion tho ;)

There are a few 'orchestrated' tracks that I like ('Memories of Guthix' is good, for one).

But I still love the synthesized tracks I mentioned in my prior replies in this thread. I worry about the future -- I want to still be able to hear those tracks whenever I want to, and not worry about them being replaced by versions that sound very different. A particular music track is not automatically better because it's orchestrated.

I'd prefer being able to hear 'Stillwater' either as the original synthesized version or as an orchestrated track, and having a choice of which one to play. I don't want the version I like taken away and a new version that might not be as good forced on me. And I use 'Stillwater' as an example because it's a track that is NOT in Old School RuneScape, so people can't tell me to go there if I want to hear it.

Anyway, if new versions of old songs are going to come into the game, I want the old versions to still be playable on my music player.

For starters, I've been meaning to post on this thread about two years!
Haha I've had a draft saved on my computer for all that time but never got round to posting it.. til now.. because I want to get it in before this html update happens.

But, I'll add it in later because I've just read Laurazal's post above me.
She took the words right out of my mouth! I have the exact same concerns.
I'm genuinely worried about not being able to hear the current versions anymore ingame. I want to still be able to hear them exactly as they are now. ):

Now that draft...
--------------------
I absolutely love the RS music, it's one of my favourite aspects of the game, it wouldn't be the same without it!
Makes me very happy, or sad as the case may be with some songs. They give me butterflies, goosebumps, laughs, cosy nostalgia feel, memories, I've just always enjoyed it greatly!
It also gives atmosphere to all the different locations and 'feeling' to things that you do, such as combat.

Some of my favourites:
Ancestral Wisdom
Competition
Everywhere - a part near the end made me cry.
Freshwater
Gnome Village2 - the first time I heard this was just.. wow.
Grotto - such a pretty little song! ^_^
Spirits of Elid - so good and goes on forever!
Superstition - amazing!
The Muspah's Tomb - relaxing
The Sound of Guthix - Wow. The first time I heard this I stopped moving to just listen, it sounded so different to other rs songs at the time.
Temple Desecrated! Soundtrack of the entire game to me. From day one being on Tut' Isle, to the present day, it just reminds me of everything about my rs experience.
Zombiism - the first listen I got goosebumps, physically felt freezing aftwerwards, amazing.
All's Fairy in Love and War
Many songs from the Jungle/Pirate/Morytania areas
Body Parts
Book of Spells + Yesteryear. I often play these two together, both wonderful yet sad.
Chompy Hunt + Grumpy - love these+funny
Egypt
Elven Seed
Fruits de Mer

Elven Mist - memory of stepping into Elf lands for the first time.
Sea Shanty2 - this is probably my longest term favourite!
Jungly2

Venture2 With these it's odd, I really do prefer the #2 versions!
Have an Ice Day
Magic Magic Magic + Work Work Work
My Arm's Journey - I can't help but whistle along to this as with Sea Shanty2
Newbie Melody - Even though I didn't hear it at the time because low detail didn't have music, it still reminds me of my early days.
Norse Code + Volcanic Vikings - brilliant
The Plundered Tomb - beautiful
Principality
Twilight + Primetime
Reunion! - Cried the first listen :') it's a remix of GV2 <3
Route of the Problem. - !The emotions this gives me! Same with Temple Desecrated.
Saltwater + Stillwater
Rellekka area songs.

All of the Runecrafting altars!

Close Quarters
Crystal Sword
Dogs of War + Malady
Ice Day For Penguins- reminds me my beloved game, Little Big Adventure :')
Underground Pass songs, loved that quest.
