Tufftypower and Tranquillity are the best mods

Sorry that you had to lock my rant thread, Tuffty. But, I'm like how you didn't ban me and told me where to post. Some other mod could have acted otherwise.

I posted it somewhere else in this boards, but I'll repeat it here for information of more people. To be honest on all of this -- an fmod as much as possible don't want to apply a forum mute. If we can reason out to the player or if a thread lock/post hide will work for him, the better for us. The muting system and its use is a complex process, we literally have to jump a lot of hoops to make it. This was maybe designed that way so we can really be very careful with applying a forum mute against an alleged erring forumer.

Besides it is not our whims that tells us if an alleged erring player deserves a forum mute, we have a document we use to based-on our actions - the fmod guidelines.

Not true, I have seen forum mutes given without any warning of any sort.

I made a woopsie and posted a board about it. So I'll post here too.

You're always on the ball when it comes to Forum Moderation and are always helpful as I've seen. Bravo. It's wonderful when Jagex gives such helpful players the ability to run the show here on the forums. :-) Keep it up!

There are instances that mutes can be applied on-the-spot - since the case was very critical for a Jagex mod to receive it ASAP. For those rare instances giving a warning is a terrible idea and going against the fmod guidelines. The jmod receving a high profile forum report from an fmod (mutes comes with attached report) usually applies a permanent forum ban for those troublemakers. I cannot go into much more detail, we can further discuss this once you join the fmod team ;)

Southeaster, truth is truth regardless if you choose to believe it or not. The truthfulness of what I stated here is not dependent to your belief.

That is also not true, while the scenario you described does cover the majority of forum mutes without warning that I've seen, I have seen cases where mutes were given without warning when the rule breaking wasn't serious, and a post hide would have sufficed. Needless to say the Forum Moderator got away with it.

That being said, this is the Forum Mod Appreciation thread, after all, so we'd better leave it at that.

Just a shoutout to Tufftypower: "This user has made 108824 posts"

Got to say, that's a ridiculous amount of contributions to the forums. O_o Good work.
