I agree, it is a breath of fresh air not having to be pressured into buying keys or hoping I get lucky! This event is probably one of the selling points for me on buying the gold premier club. Thanks for doing something good Jagex!
Almost every person i have seen complaining about it has always referenced the fact that some of the tasks are quite long and require a bit of time to complete.
Not everything needs to be completed five minutes after it's released

I don't think people would be happy regardless of what Jagex has done for the event. If the tasks were too short, people would say " how come it was not longer?" and if they are long, than the result is what you said.
I am just happy that the yak track breaks up the routine.
Time to follow an trail of Treasure.

This has been a joy to complete and is more than possible to do so within the time frame made available. Personally doing this on two active accounts as well as farming in between. Players need to not expect everything handed to them on a silver platter,
just like life: if its worth something, it is worth working for or as my Gran would have put it: Put in the effort and reap the rewards
. Thanks also Jagex for Bernie received during one of the firemaking tasks.

This has been one of their best monetization strategies I've seen. I really feel like this is the route to go to both maintain MTX income, but appeal to the anti-Treasure Hunter crowd that's fearful of unfair advantages.
It would be really good if it was a couple of months to complete as it is, it's tough on those that want to collect and make all resources to complete each challenge <- a lot of time is needed to achieve this and a lot of us don't have the hours each day to do this. We have our dailies, weeklies, monthlies, clan commitments to complete plus the game to play. We have Christmas event coming up and the crater lake event coming up too - too much for those that don't want to spend irl dollars or in-game gp.
I was one of those who posted that the yak track was just another attempt to lure players into buying premium and bonds. This is still true and after reading on forum about bugs was not going to do the tasks.
However after starting them and completing the free tasks I found it refreshing. It made me do some tasks i haven't done in a while and helped me break out of my routine. Yes some tasks were very grindy and a few that only took couple minutes to do. (cook food in entrana).
The rewards were very generous and a few friends of us helped out with ideas and items. All in all I think it went well. I also think the time line given to do all the tasks is also very good. I finished mine 1 month before it ends and I wasn't in a panic. I still did my dailies.
Really enjoyed doing the yak trail. It made me do some tasks that I have neglected doing for a while, and gave me a motive for doing so. Am using the teleport that it gave at the end, and thought a lot of the prizes were worth having. Thanks a lot, would like to do another one
