All the rich(Scammers) done sold off their wealthy tokens to the scapegoats because they know these items were gonna be re released. A solution to target these types of players would be to add a 10% Tax on all rares. Only then will you see inflation drop and rares go down to a more affordable price. We all know the money that's being generated in game is going directly to these players.

As my original thread got locked without any current chance to submit forum moderation review I am creating a new one. (Interesting business approach that paying customers cannot address complaints)

Thread "Effects of Overregulation" has not been intended as a rant.

From my perspective, recurring re-releasing of certain items (=item discussion), such as tokens, with prices, that are reachable for common middle class, makes it seem that Jagex is trying to scatter wealth of investors / hoarders specialized in such items. While, in my opinion, this strategy seems successful against middle class, I think it is just accelerating the process of the top richest players gaining larger "part of the cake" (from economical perspective) and the middle class is fading out. Do you see it equally?

Please, feel free to discuss the topic here and disregard the initial comment.

Looking forward to any reactions.
Almost no one, certainly not Jagex, understands runescape as you do, from the perspective of a merchant who plays to accumulate rares.

Players are jealous that others are wealthy. RS has inflation. Rather than fix that inflation, we might just see most items, or at least most tokens, released again.

I dont think Jagex values the old way of playing, as you play. Maybe they’ll protect rares. They might ultimately make them untradeable.

My point is just that almost no one replying, no one playing, no one managing this game, understands or appreciates your perspective as a merchant. I believe if they had kept to the old way that this game would be far healthier, with new classes of rich created from new discontinued releases. Jagex does not agree with me, by its actions.

I suspect most at Jagex have experiences with other games, not this game. As such, they probably dont know that merching used to be the big activity in the game. Regardless, we still have something of a market. It’s just different now.

A serious weakness of RS has been its desire to be like other games. It lacks the confidence to remain unique, to retain its own separate niche.

The way combat was approached, and then mtx spam, shows this. RS wants to be a different game, doesnt like itself.

People dont necessarily know what they are doing. We tend to assume some action or another has deep thought and intent behind it. That’s not always the case. The reality is the OP might well better understand aspects of this game than management does. Such is life.

If rares are hit next, the class divide will greatly diminish. There’s not much point to a stack of shard boxes.

This was a politically motivated decision. Politics about wealth gap on an online game sad days.

Lets require everyone to do giveaways and if not they get banned!
Politics is important. They have to keep players happy.

I dont know what’s best for tokens. It would seem best to release a new, scarce token instead of the original zombie.
