Hey guys, old lurker here checking in.

I'm the guy that saw the Rare Quark name freed up and registered it. Offered it back to Charm but he said it was fine. I should have insist though since that marked the beginning of a long period of "no I'm not Charm" and me eventually losing my original identity.

I recognize all the old names here and am close to the 20 year cape, my past names include master1236, master quark, rares master, and at least 3 other more recent ones (if anyone remembers, please let me know, I forgot my identity).

Still got a white and some other smaller rares, thinking about one day getting back into merching but retirement has been relaxing so probably not.

Readinggeak,

I have tried the game and it is very different.

The issues are there are not so many players on RS, it just feel like an empty world. If you are also into PvP there is no luck on RS due to this EoC system. Skilling is very fast and easy and minigame are dead content. Despite the drawbacks, RS has two unique things and that is PvM and merching discontinued items.

Of course, OSRS also have some drawbacks including Bots etc. but in general I feel like OSRS is my home and the only thing pushing me on RS forums is the rare that I hold. I hardly post and the last time I posted was in 2016 I think.

I decided to post here to welcome you, Readinggeak back.

You might not hear from me again for another couple of years on forums.

I hope that you can attract more old member post on this thread in the near future.

Peace

I 100% agree, I honestly am very much enjoying OSRS (I have no intention of coming back to RS3. I think if I still had $ I would be much more inclined).

But OSRS is missing that key aspect that you mentioned, merching discontinued items. My favorite goal back in the day was to make $ to buy rares. Idk where to channel that goal on OSRS... maybe third age items? Doesn't feel the same.

I know they'll never do this, but I do wish they'd bring discontinued items to OSRS. Fashionscape and wealth were always fun goals to strive for.

Also, hell Theos! I certainly remember you. And Master Quark, I remember you as well!

Low key also super miss the clan aspect of R Quark. Such a fun group of people. Definitely good to see some of you still around, even if just lurking. I haven't played RS3 since EoC, but I have been a pretty consistent lurker because I still find rares so interesting, even though I have none now.

Oh yea, I remember you.

I'm curious if Charm remembers me. I used to post lists in his thread, which I think he hated, haha. But no hard feelings otherwise I'm sure. I was, erm, smilie in his fc twice, at different times. But yea, I was the first to really list hard, dunno how long I listed like that though. Others listed often also. Scope's system really worked well.

I think I know you as master1236, but I dunno. I kinda remember it. My name was slightly different.
I cannot for the life of me manage to catch Covid. Perhaps it's because I didn't get vaxxed? The travails of those lacking immunity. :(

I wouldn't say RS3 is "dead" - it's definitely smaller than OSRS, but still very active, especially PvM. I still play both because RS3 has something OSRS never will have, fun PvM and real discontinued items.

Once you max on OSRS it gets boring really really fast, while on RS3 you can still do a lot and have fun.

Also to add to the thread, it's pretty easy to make money on RS3. End-game PvM is like 150m+/hr and even merching is super easy, I guess because a lot of items are low volume now

I recognise most of the names mentioned here. I have 25,000 screenshots going back to 2006, including loads from the days of junk trading. Those were the days! I still dabble, but I'm not keeping up with inflation, so I get poorer by the day.

Good to see you all!

Miffdor, your name came up in a YouTube video I watched recently as a legendary item collector. Also, you should share those screenshots in a video or something! I love watching videos of old RS content.

Enrichments, good to see you!

Honestly loving that this thread is getting a couple posts here and there. Good to hear how things have been going.
