When you drop a rare burnt lobster, you get the message "too late - it's gone"
Don't try it, i did it for you, lol.
A normal burnt lobster you can pick up again and does not have this message.
Has this always been like this?
Or is this recently added?
Anyway, it kinda makes te rare burnt lobster legit, as jagex added this.
Your thoughts please?
I'm unsure if this quote by Timbo has ever been posted here, if it has feel free to delete this or whatever, but I feel its worth pointing out in light of transparency, especially in this thread where a lot of these items are discontinued as a byproduct of a game update (m/s fliers etc).
Original message details are unavailable.
Timbo via Reddit:
"It's something that we need to keep reiterating every time this happens. Any accidental tradeable rare items will be fixed where possible, this is one of those cases and wasn't intended.
Please, please,
please
stop believing that you've struck the latest gold mine because items like these are never to be intended to remain tradeable rares."
Original message details are unavailable.
Timbo via Reddit:
"I can't speak for legacy items like half wines because that was, now, a very long time ago. However, our policy over the last 5-6 years has been extremely clear - any tradeable rares that have been made as an accidental byproduct of an update will be fixed. This has been the case for a long time now and similar instances in the past 5 years have been fixed like this."
EDIT: given this, I'm unsure of how long ago "rare" rune gauntlets/lobsters were created, or whether or not they would fall under the "legacy items" Timbo mentioned (they very well might), but its something worth noting that there is a degree of risk with regard to potential future corrections.

Yo Semite
real dick move on Jagex's part. They should write proper code to begin with to avoid these fuckups but they don't and they don't fix these items in a timely fashion. Instead we get updates years later "fixing" things. Meanwhile they can't fix the god damn forum pictures.
