There seems to be a lot of confusion about the green Santa and what was said by Mod Hooli.
and I quote "Unlike the Golden Party Hat, this isn't something we're saying is a get it now or miss out forever moment - we're definitely open to it returning in the future around Christmas sometime."

This absolutely by no means confirms it is coming back in the future. it is left open-ended and is in no way a confirmation as to it returning every year or even in the future. Seems as if they are unsure about it.

If I were to estimate from my own gameplay, I've probly' burned through 15k-20k paper and maybe received not even a dozen purple gifts and a whopping zero gold boxes :P . I'm not upset because of it, nor really envious of the lustrous link hat, just kinda' bummed all the tokens are rock bottom prices because of the hype. ig it's nice to donate them to the polar bear instead for some less fortunate player's secret santa gift! The XP lamps help, too.

You are good compared to me. I burned around 90K for now and no gold boxes. I did get around 35 purples though.
The action or process of causing so much damage to something that it no longer exists or cannot be repaired.

There's no confusion.

1. Mod Hooli confirmed that the Green Santa hat won't be a discontinued item like the Golden Phat

2. It can return anytime, so investing into it would be pretty stupid, you can compare it to holding into Tokens, we all saw what happened to Zombie Walks and Rainbow items

black santa was like 200m or less when released this is currently 15x that

obviously only jagex knows the rarity

what theyve done is not tell us if it or isnt going to be disc
so its still 50/50 till thye make an exact verdict

Another consideration is the inflation since the rerelease of black Santa hat. 200m back then is not the same as 200m today. I do agree that if Jagex clarifies their intentions with Gsh, the price will appropriately adjust. At the moment, this item is incredibly rare with people reporting opening thousands of presents and being unsuccessful in finding one.

Ikr, I think it's pretty hilarious

There's players trying to Twist what Mod Hooli said, even tho he perfectly stated that it's NOT a discontinued item xD

That's enough for me, not to get one or invest in it, I'll just wait another year and try my luck with presents

With how much money Jagex made because of it, I am 100% sure they will do the event again next year, or perhaps earlier, who knows

Keep in mind, even if it isn't discontinued it is possible it can sustain max + prices. There's plenty of other rare items, dyes for example which maintain these prices. If it comes back yearly, that's enough to stunt the growth of this item but based on current rarity and demand I don't see it dropping below max cash this year.

I do think Mod Hooli, and/or a developer J-Mod should be very clear about their intentions with the Green Santa hat so that players who are investing in them know what to expect.
