Sledge is just a lure for gambling. They sell presents for keys. In fact, they used this same system for our wonderful celebration of 300 million accounts created.

I hammered and slaved, used piles of keys and all I got was the feeling that they don't care about people at all. Just the money.

THAT is their idea of a Holiday celebration. We've fallen pretty far in the last year. As expected.

That's 100.0000000000% absolutely wrong. This is game of chance but not regulated gambling. Lure for "gambling" will be like pay real money for membership or other means to get a chance to win real money or prizes like OSRS's Boss Bash Raffle. Jagex knows what is actual real life lure for GAMBLING. That's why they have to put up such official rules as well as limited such real life Lure for GAMBLING to players over 18 and resided in countries/cities where real money GAMBLING is allowed by their LAWS.

Besides, regardless of what you think about TH, it is a PERMANENT game content running 365 days a weeks and 24 a hours. It is not "this year's Christmas event". This year's Christmas EVENTS - Presents From The Sledge, Advent Calender, Free daily rewards, remains totally FREE, not MTX or new accounts with membership purchased required whatsoever.

Those zeroes would be 10,000% more impressive if you put a 1 at the end.

The people who buy extra keys for balloons. In their minds why would they do that? They ain't placing an order at Taco Bell. Whatever related item they want, it was made so rare that one MUST gamble in order to achieve it.

TH is a permanent feature which changes on a regular basis. They even have tutorials for some promos.

If players buy TH keys, they aren't playing Presents From The Sledge, this year's Christmas Event we are talking about in this thread. There is a designed TH forums for such discussion already. It is no Future Game Update anyway.

Edit: the free daily present is just part of the Christmas event. Not something extra. So you got MTX and advent calendar. There it is.

Again, yes but this is from TH. We also get a lot of currencies like gp, Dungeoneering Tokens etc from TH. Don't tell us every time when we get gp or DG tokens etc from TH then TH is DG or other content.

I doubt anyone is buying keys for DG tokens. Maybe. This is much more specific. The entire point is for people to spend an undetermined amount of money to POSSIBLY win a prize.

Every other reason can be ignored. They intentionally make the item more rare than it should be, with the purpose of having their customers spend extra money.

I disagree with the entire concept. Their PR isn't good enough to operate like that.

This year's Christmas Events are looking as good as last year's. We can earn a lot of free stuffs including cosmetics and XP items among other useful minigame currencies.

We should be maxing or mater maxing sooner playing Presnets From the Hedge and such.

Nice dodge, but maybe you could remind yourself of the topic by reading the OP again. You might be delighted to see that they are talking about TH and the upcoming Christmas event. Just like me.

This year's RS3 Holiday Event is certainly more rewarding with items of new categories than previous years.

I do miss those fun holiday events of the past:
-A stray in the manger
-Up to snow good
-A towering feast

All of these had an unique feel to the holidays and it did not rely on TH so much ( Squeal at the time)

I missed those kind of events and that is why sometimes playing OSRS brings back those memories during the holiday.

Sadly the RS3 team only focuses on the XP factor of events or the Daily TH spinners, not caring about those who don't like that stuff. ( and screw over any irons who can't get the stuff due to being on TH only at the time of release). Time to follow an trail of Treasure.
