Something like the The G-Nome Project but with a Dragonkin and Elder God instead of Rudolph theme, because they want to put more lore in most of the content.

Advent Calendar.

Maybe the familiar Christmas Cracker too.

One hopes that the Christmas events will be filled with lore ( Yes they have said they want to tie lore into the seasonal events, But I don't hold them to that. Halloween will be a indicator if they follow though with it or not.

Can you see Kerapac being the Grinch or Santa? lol

I'm not getting my hopes up since Jagex seems too keen on "festive themed" events rather than actual Christmas and Easter events, but I'm hoping for a more "classic" Christmas event. Something that is festive, fun, cheerful and has that same feel that the old events had back in the day, but has a new story to it. I'm so sick of the lazy, boring events like the giant Christmas cracker or the collect-and-hand-in sort of events like the Traveling Artisan, Yak Track and the GrindScape predecessors. ~

RS3 will have a Christmas quest this year. There is no Grindscape predecessors like a 2-month long event in RS3 this year.

I'm not sure were Dilbert got it from, but here is a thread on reddit about updates coming in the next months including the Christmas event:
