Necromancy is about to bring two new bosses to RuneScape - and later (November) this year, you'll get a third one!

That's quick and prepared well ahead. The RS3 Team is giving us a 3rd Necromancy boss before the 2 they have announced are being released.

From the picture on the news, it is going to be Zemouregal, right? It makes sense we are going to kill him in Necromancy, but not the Fort Forinthry storyline too, as Zemouregal told us in Unwelcome Guest he was there just as a distraction.

The real story and fight against Zemoregal fall under the Necromancy storyline, and perhaps we will have the 4th Necromancy boss after we kill Zemo in November.

Anybody think the 3rd Necromancy Boss is someone other than Zemo?

Three possibilities immediately come to mind.

1) Zemouregal himself. Raisal has indicated that he doesn't have a high opinion of Zemouregal's creations, or the Mahjarrat in general. And he perished in Dimension of Disaster , albeit in a parallel universe.
2) The ancient dragon creature Zemouregal is looking to raise, as indicated at the end of Dead and Buried .
3) The fourth Rex Matriach that's been hinted at. This could be the same as 2, of course.

I also wonder about the idea of raising the bones of a large dagannoth, and using that as a Necromancy-themed Dagannoth King.

I am going to go with Zemouregal for now.

It makes more sense we go climb up the Necromancer boss ladder gradually.

Zemouregal -> Moia -> Xau-Tak's Erebus wingmen -> Xau-Tak

It is going to be like the GWD sagas... we start with GWD1, then GWD2 and eventually EGW following RS3's histories of letting the stories shimmer to add more favors to the main course. They aren't going to just make a bunch of random new mobs and call them hugggeeee bosses.

Whoever the 3rd Necromancer boss is, I think we may see them in ED5 instead of just an instance.

The RS3 Team has briefed us on nerfing ED3 post Necromancy launch, the most logical scenario is to replace ED3 with another ED.

The third boss will most likely be Vorkath, as hinted at by the end of Dead and Buried . @Chee__RS

As much as I'd love to kill Zemouregal I also believe Jagex knows just how annoying of a character he is and will continue to force him upon us - especially since he's the most vocal Zamorakian voice. Bilrach would have been a perfect replacement for that position...but...yeah

The 3rd Necromancy boss will likely be a small potato to set up bigger, and bigger threats leading to Xau-Tak who will be the biggest threat of the main storyline for the next decade.

It will be much likelier we see the smallest potato, perhaps Zemouregal or just a lame dragon similar to Elvarg next, before we move onto bigger one like Bilrach, Lucien and then Moia who seems to be Xau-Tak's chosen one, then the Erebus rulers eventally.

Lucien

Lucien died over a decade ago, even canonically.

I'm not sure what you mean by Moia being 'Xau-Tak's chosen one' either -- there is no evidence to support this whatsoever.

In case if you have missed the special "Til Death Do Us Aprt 2018 RS3 Halloween Event, you should get the wonderful lore on Moia, Lucien, Xau-Tak, and also the 4 Horsemen here:

^ That was some chaotic energy scenario thing that bears very little weight canonically. Mahjarrat have no soul ergo can't be brought back from the dead. At least not via necromancy. You've been told this is multiple threads and provided with wiki links on the matter before
