It is an interesting idea, however extremely poorly placed in terms of real life events, extreme inflation. Ontop of this i am unsure if it would be a good thing to even temporarily fracture the already rather small rs3 community into smaller fragmented instead of trying to attract more people to the rs3 version of the game.

Ontop of this id prefer to see a new system created in which you have an overall account which contains several characters like in many other mmo games these days and the ability to log into said character on several game versions simultaniously. Without these options i do not even see a proper gameplay reason why you should need a temporary server as is announced.

They are already attracting new and lapsed players with all those new cosmetics and expediated progression. Last reported, RS3 has been growing its revenue 18% and OSRS only 6%, comparing to 23% for the entire video game industry. They knew they are significantly underperforming the video game industry so they are trying to catch up with.

Most players can only spend an hour or two to play video games nowadays. If new and lapsed players have to grind at the same xp rate as 10 years ago, they will always be 10 years behind existing players. There is very little point to play such a stupid MMO when they can go play new games on competitive ground with everybody else.

In case if you don't know, we will be able to transfer items from FSW to our main account. They will be linked later this year, and it is the main purpose of Jagex Launcher.

Technical reasons stop Jagex to let us share character profiles across different games. They have also found numerous problems loading different saved profiles into different game modes in OSRS, causing extensive downtime and problems associated with login-logout. Not much they can do.

What an absolute waste of time and resources.

I guess Jagex just have too many people employed who have no idea what to do, so they come up with this kind of time limited content to secure their job instead of permanent content.

Can't tell about all the other Jagex games, now and the new ones coming up. However, to be incredibly fair, RS3 has more persistent content updates than almost all, if not all, MMOs on Planet Earth. Guinness World Records can tell you that.

To be even more than incredibly fair, they have delivered all the permanent content they have shown us on their roadmap the last 4 months with good quality and earlier than scheduled.

this will bring tons of players back

On the contrary. It will bring a ton new alts into the game. That's what this is really intended for.

What's wrong with alts? Plenty of IM alts in the game for a long time already, and even more GIM alts in OSRS for almost a year too.

Many of you haven't thought this thru.

Jagex is a business they have to make money to stay in business. This is a simple fact of life and you would have nothing to talk about if they fold and RS dies. And you wouldn't be playing the game.

So get over yourself and be fair and realistic in that Jagex has to make money.

The question is how they can do that fairly and in a way to keep RS alive.

They've already tried "micro" transactions in War of Legends that weren't so micro and you basically "had" to pay for you to seriously play the game and it killed the entire game.

Is that what you want? Jagex to make money by "forcing" you to buy things with IRL money (bonds are IRL money someone else paid btw) in RS?

Fresh Start is/was a way to provide some cool bene's to people who were willing to pay for extra membership.

The sick part is everyone who complained about this. What level someone else is, or what they have, is frankly none of your concern or business and you're a fool if you go thru life thinking that way.

I think fresh Start "was" an excellent idea. Jagex could make money without "forcing" all of us to pay for things in normal RS. Unfortunately, with all the whiners and complainers, it's been nerfed even before it starts. How likely are you to get all the 99 capes now in 4 months at 1.5x exp while still having some kind of life outside RS?

People who complained about this need to really think this through. If you keep complaning about "nice" ways Jagex tries to make money you will succeed in forcing Jagex into "not so nice" ways and you sure as hell won't like that.
