That does help, thank you. I avoid steam games... uninstalled the client long ago, and don't intend on going back. It might have been the end of 18 years of playing RS, for me, if we were forced to use it.
If Rs being on steam is like any other " third party" that uses steam to launch its game, it will most likely open up into the Rs client in some way.
Basically the NXT client will be the standalone client ( and best way to play the game). Those who use steam will launch RS through steam ( and thus connected and linked together, but ultimately connect to the same client that we use today.
At least that has been my experience with other mmo's on steam.
