From Mod Keeper's roadmap a skilling location update is coming this year.

From Mod the livestream with Mods Jack and Shogun, we know farming is getting an overhaul November.

Given The RS3 Team typically developed content with a theme, it is not far fetched to connect the dots and... the new Wildy Skilling Location is the Potterington family's 3rd business venture... into Wilderness?

We have seen Granny Potterington and Pre-historic Potterington. What about Wilderness Potterington? Granny Potterington breeds common animals in POF, Pre-historic Potterington breeds dinos in POF2.... Do you think we will see Wilderness Potterington breeding demons in POF3?

I'm not against it, POF is some of my favorite content, but there is already a lot to it. I don't see much need for expansion.

An update is not always an "expansion". A lot of RS3's regular weekly patches are bigger than "expansions" in many games anyway.

We know we are going to get a significant Farming update in November, which starts tomorrow. Logically Farming in the new Wilderness comes to mind when we recall the new skilling location happening this year in Mod Keeper's roadmap.

Actually we have a Wilderness farm already, following the Summer quest series. Perhaps the Potterington franchise will be interested in acquiring it. :)

From what I've heard the farming updates will primarily be about herb drops/seeds. Which I think is a welcome idea.

As far as the likelyhood of POF 3? I'm not sure I'm convinced it would happen. Though as you mentioned there is a new skilling location coming, a farming update, and there has been a lot of work in the Wilderness.

Regardless of all of that I am super curious about what the new skilling area will be. I love being able to skill in newer/prettier areas. Perhaps it will be POF 3, or perhaps it will allude to the new skill coming out next year, or perhaps it will be something none of us could guess.

I suppose time will tell :)

New/prettier areas can be in the Sprit Realm of Summer's Farm. :)

As much as I love POF, I don't think this is likely. The main reason we got a second POF was because Farming/Herblore had just gone to 120 and they needed some new content to fill it up; the animal-rearing side of Farming is now fairly well catered to from start to finish, so there probably isn't a need for more POF content.

I do think there's a strong possibility that the Wilderness will get some new Farming content; however I think it'll be in the form of growing crops, not raising animals. The "Surprising Sapling" Wilderness Flash Event proves that the Wilderness is not as infertile (due to its anima being damaged by Zamorak nuking Forinthry with the Stone of Jas at the end of the God Wars) as we originally thought, and that plants not as hardy as Bloodwood, Bloodweed, and Limpwurt can somehow manage to grow in its soil under the right conditions.

This would also conveniently tie into the planned buffs for growing herbs; it's not much of a stretch for Jagex to want to add new crops (something that remains fairly lacking for post-99 Farming) alongside such an update. Not just anything grows in the Wilderness after all; perhaps the forces of the Zamorakian Civil War will be willing to set up a farm for us to train at? The Demonic forces could probably benefit from a new source of food (the Daemonheim forces have access to the eels, cave potatoes, etc. from Dungeoneering, but aside from hunting Wilderness monsters for meat, the demons don't have a reliable source of food)

And as for where we might grow them? Well, funny that you've mentioned the Bonde family farm... wouldn't you know it, that farm was active in the Fourth Age, nearly two millennia after the Wilderness was turned into the wasteland that we know it to be. Methinks if any place in the Wilderness might be fertile enough for new crops, it'd be there.

The new skilling location happens to be Garden of Kharid.

Yes, it is a comprehensive update on farming with new mechanism, a new progress system and new Plant Power rewards - well, I guess The RS3 Team are equal opportunity developers. When we have Player Power, we get to have Plant Power too, right? What about Mob Power next? :D

No, it doesn't look like we are getting POF3 in the Wildy yet, so Wilderness Potterington may save her beans for her next M&A venture to diversify the Potterington's portfolio to manage risks.

That garden update sounds incredibly bad. Why would I do any of that, and why would I care? I mean, I farmed a lot of my herbs. There was nothing noteworthy about it, I was just trying to save some money. Now herbs are basically free in comparison.

Hopefully there are some typos and missing details, and this is not anything like what the update will be. Been there before.

You farmed a lot of your herbs absolutely doesn't mean everybody farms a lot of their herbs. If you have watched the livestream with Mods Jack and Shogun, you should know they said very few players farm herbs. With this update, it is far more appealing for players including pvmers to farm herbs.

Of course, if you don't want to be able to farm multiple herbs in one hatch among other new rewards, while seeing everybody else can, you don't need to do Garden of Kharid.

Well, they should know very few are farming herbs now because they are so cheap, and POF exists.

So to improve the situation they require a lot of additional effort?

Then they turn around in the same post and say the RC buffs will become monster drops.

It seems like a parody to me. I would write this udpate as a joke. The plant power chart showing increased yield per seed is the punchline. Folks will be rolling on the floor once they see it.
