Well, they should know very few are farming herbs now because they are so cheap, and POF exists.

So to improve the situation they require a lot of additional effort?

Then they turn around in the same post and say the RC buffs will become monster drops.

It seems like a parody to me. I would write this udpate as a joke. The plant power chart showing increased yield per seed is the punchline. Folks will be rolling on the floor once they see it.

We knew it a couple of weeks ago from the livestream. "Folks" haven't been "rolling on the floor".

POF don't give seeds and herbs. They may consume seeds rather. It means zip to this update.

I tried watching the video but I was unable to follow with the music and dead air time. You should know that when you randomly put quotes around someone's words it appears to be mocking. I can already see what I wrote.

Did they put up the chart showing the returns for additional seeds? I'm thinking people would talk about that at least.

POF is related because why would you do anything other than that for farming XP? This is about money making for skilling. I understand that, but I don't think it will work.

At best we get back to where we were when I was farming my own herbs. :D

Who farm herb seeds for farming xp? They aren't talk about farming xp with this update.

Please check the GE prices of herbs dropped by bosses now. They have all been shooting up significantly since the livestream 2 weeks ago. Players, especially the ones who farm herbs themselves, obviously are seeing values there.

Literally the next sentence after farming xp I said this is a money making update. If you aren't farming herbs for money or personal use, then like they claimed on the stream, there is nobody doing it. You just raise farm animals instead.

IF I needed herbs now or since the stream aired, I would definitely buy as many as I need, and probably more. I wouldn't farm any of them, just buy buy buy.

When we don't farm herb and buy them instead, of course it further serves the purpose of making herbs more valuable. That's what this update intend to do. A lot of players are happy to see higher herb price so they will be more willing to farm them.

Exactly. My concern is how much will the herbs be? Will this update just revert us back a few years to when I was doing it?

If they are easy to get, people will farm their own. If they are super profitable, more people will get involved until it isn't. There are always going to be a few herbs that are highest money, and everyone will focus on them.

We also have increased tradeable potions now. So a lot of the herb supply that was being transformed for XP was lost forever in our banks. This might also play into the lack of people doing herb runs now.

When would lack of people doing herb runs when farming herbs is profitable again?

RS3 runs a player driven economy. The RS3 teams doesn't artificially support prices of specific items. In a efficient market, prices of items will find the point suppliers and consumers agree on.

That's why most players have no issues.

No, it doesn't look like we are getting POF3 in the Wildy yet

T'is a pity. I thought I might have been onto something with the realization that the Bondes were apparently able to run a successful farm in the post-annihilation Wilderness (and I'm a little surprised that, after most of the past few permanent updates were Wilderness-centric, that we're headed back to what seems to be next door to Het's Oasis -- you can see the back of the Tree of Balance in the first screenshot, giving us a good idea of where this Garden is going to be). Ah well, maybe that'll still pay off someday.

I also wasn't expecting the new update to have some much needed balance changes for Thieving and Runecrafting. Early game pickpocketing is going to be much less obnoxious now, and it looks like Runecrafters will have a much easier time keeping up with the demand of PvMers to fuel their spells. Sure, it'll likely mean the cost per rune is going to go down significantly (shop runs will presumably no longer be a better source of runes than the skill designed for making them!), but hopefully the increased yield will more than make up for it.

You aren't wrong about that. Why would anyone waste money with ultracompost at max "plant power" when the difference is +1 (total) herb yield?
This is just the next chapter in Jagex's poor execution and creation of solutions in search of problems. Did they state anywhere what the intended purpose of this update really was?

edit: The update to the nightshade patch is the only thing remotely worthwhile and that's about 10 years too late.
