Only new accounts are allowed to join or create or join fresh start worlds. This means those of you with existing membership, or would simply like to hop over onto another world have no hope. You must pay AGAIN to access this.

When old school came out, I could use my membership I have to play it. When TH came out, I could opt not to play it. When this comes out, if I want to play it, I have to pay DOUBLE the fee to play this new game mode.

In short, Jagex have began charging for game updates as a separate service.

This is utterly vile, and against the entire ethos of the game since its conception. Year after year you jack up the MTX and year after year we take it because it's simply not that big of a deal.

This MUST change. You cannot force players who want to access this game mode to pay you TWICE to access this content. I should be able to hop worlds, like on old school and access my accounts fresh account state, locked only to that world (tournament worlds) which is the very thing that screams "We are lying to the players about the 300m player counter, just like we did back with the 200m one, and need to increase our income because the investors are mad again"

I just don't see why you do this to the fanbase, the same fan base that's been around for 15+years.

You can also opt not to play Fresh Start Worlds too. There is no difference.

When Ironman Mode came out, existing players needed to make new accounts to play it too. And when GIM came out in OSRS, we need to make yet more make accounts to play it too. So what when we can opt not to play IM and GIM too?

Can't see the point of grinding through quests and building up char again. Apart from helping out those poor deprived shareholders. But if people want to make additional 'charitable donations' to Jagex by having another yet another 'ALT' leave em to it is my view.

A fool and their money is soon parted, was true in the past and indeed the same is true now.

If it helps Jagex to improve the game, bring in more quests and fix bugs I am all for it I guess.

People are already making "charitable donations" to Jagex by having numerous alts for GIM, Leagues, DMM and the soon to be a lot more game modes in OSRS.

I can't see the point of them grinding through quests and building up char there again, but yet they do. It is all their time and money. Whether they see the point of not is not my call to make.

If they want to part with their cash to do it, it is of course their choice! :P

Actually to me if I have to create an alt, it is definitely more worthy to do it for permanent content like what Fresh Start Worlds is carrying into the main RS3 game, or content like GIM, than one-off events like Leagues where my alt will be nothing after flushing it down the toilet in a couple of months.

TBH I am busy with just one account, more to life than playing games and RS. But if some people need to spend more, P2W etc. I am all for it if it improves finances and the future of the game etc.

I play my own game and happy with my current rate of expenditure tyvm :)

Leave the 'fools' to it IMV. Do it or not choice is yours.

It's just a product they're offering. If you don't like the look of the product or think its too expensive, that's fine, you're not their customer. Jagex is a business at the end of the day.

We're lucky that they offer F2P really.

I think we need reminding why MTX exists. Gold sellers. Why should some scumbag(s) make a bunch of money off players willing to 'pay to win' when that money could go back into the game / help make it better for the majority of honest players. It's a necessary evil IMO.
It's not like they aren't putting that extra revenue to good use, we've seen loads of new stuff! Bob says:

Yes, and let me add that Jagex is only asking us for another membership to play Flesh Start Worlds. Other MTX are absolutely not necessary.
