*cont. from above - TL;DR - the writing here could be disastrous given that it's daring to introduce more LGBTQ+ characters and play with the idea that they might not be likable like the ones already in the game are. However, I have complete faith in Jagex to remain true to form on that front. It's one of this team's strong suits.*

Now for the FUN part about the characters!

> The King and Queen's new 'fits look nice. I like that the Varrock coat of arms on the shoulders replaces the Fort Forinthry ones from the Yak Track armor set. For players that really wanna get immersed into the party, they can don their own set with the Fort's coat of arms and look like a part of the proceedings!

> I like the story that Ellamaria was a barmaid at the Blue Moon from the Wise Old Man more. This feels like a bit of a retcon. Hopefully we can ask Queenie about her adventures....not that she'd tell us.

> Did we invite the alchemist or did the King and Queen decide to bring a part of their retinue as a plus one we definitely didn't give them permission to have?

> Edgeville is an official duchy! It's a shame that scale theory kinda forces us to -imagine- Edgeville Castle. If the game was ever scaled up one day, I'd love to see all human areas that probably should have a castle have one.

> Where on the map is Lumford? This duchess is a duchess of a made up place. I don't know if I like that.

> Having someone stand in for Duke Horacio makes sense!.... except that person doesn't look like she's related to Duke Horacio at all. At least the claim isn't that she's his sister - and maybe the player is being lied to as part of the quest here. This lady intrigues me.

I just led a 1 man expedition up the River Lum to figure out where Lumford could be.

It's definitely east of the river. The west side is already accounted for. It could be the area south of Varrock including the Champion's guild.

Further up the river, west of the GE there is a camp full of thieves and goons. Certainly not there.

The most likely candidate is just south of there. The whole area west of Varrock and south of the GE.

So Gertrude lives there, the cooking guild is there, air altar, goblin park, the mansion. Nice place. Allegedly.

This works exactly as I predicted, with the Time Guardian being the new generation Duke, the old school Duke Horacio is just a dummy. Basilissa Adrasteia will turn to the new Duke, who is us, the Time Guardian, going forward, as we move the remastered story of Runescape into the Next Generation.

1) Makeover mage exists.

2) Adoption happens

3) Niece via marriage instead of blood. We've yet to see the Duke's children (assuming they exist) nor have we met the Duke's wife.
If his wife had a brother or sister, and they had a kid like this, Duke Horatio would still be the kiddo's uncle.
I have (had) a sister. I also have a niece and nephew. If I ever got married and had kids, my brother in law would still technically be the kid's uncle, just as the woman I marry would become my niece and nephew's aunt.
But if I have a kid, my brother in law isn't blood related to the kid just as the woman I'd marry wouldn't be blood related to my niece and nephew.

The quest will be out tomorrow, so the mystery will be resolved soon... but the bigger mystery is actually what the new Necromancy skill in RS3 will be like.

Who will die and who will kill them will probably give us the lore preluding to the release of Necromancy.

Well, we know the murder victim is a previously unknown Duke of Edgeville. Now his legacy is being turned over to a cute little dog. Is it the end? Or pardon me your grace, is it the beginning of a new chapter of the bureaucracy of Misthalin, given Duke Horacio of Lumbrdige was also missing in action... The saga continues...

Now, turning back to defending the Fort, we know The Raptor is on his way. The Fort will be crowed with heroes and heroines. We have a kitchen to cook food for them. We need a Barrack or some sleeping quarters for them next.
