Frist things first: I was wrong when I predicted that these events will be much like the Flash mobs that we see on the game world today. I am glad to be proven wrong because this reveal has blown my expectations out of the water. Here was my orginal thoughts on the update taken taken from my other thread:

" Oct: Wildrness flash events: I like to imagine this will be like the Flash mobs that we have come to know over the years, only in the wilderness. We shall see soon"
My previous thread

Having admitted that I was wrong, lets take a look at what was revealed today

1-
Mini quests
: Four miniquests that leads up to the final quest in the saga. I am really looking forward to these as they will help bring the story to the conclusion.
2-
Wilderness Flash events
: Based around the Zammy Civil war and needing to supply both sides of the conflict. This bought back the fun times that was seen during the Bird and the beast world event and I cannot wait to be able to dive into this.
3-
Rewards:
Can we talk about how sweet these rewards are? The alchemical onyx enchantments will make these items even more important. That is huge for anyone who uses them already. I am looking forward to the clue skip and the extended porter.

Overall I am really looking forward to this update on Monday and hope we see even more of these in 2023.

What about you guys, are you hyped for this update on Monday?

Reserved for any questions that could be answered:

1- Is this event temporary?

JagexAbe
Mod Abe
The events will only appear at certain times (according to the schedule we added to the newspost), but that schedule should run indefinitely from now on - they are not being removed like the demon invasions were.

2- It says on the news post that the Events will continue on its cycle after the first " day", does that meaan that after 23:00 game time, the next event is at 11:00 Game time?

I'm excited. I've really been enjoying the new Wilderness so having a reason to spend even more time there is exactly what the doctor ordered. The rewards sound great; stuff like reliable direct access to the Obelisks (instead of having to teleport into the Wilderness and walk to them), the Alchemical Onyx enchantments, and a KBD encounter that has better drop rates than the infamously stingy normal boss is all welcome stuff. The Brawling Gloves buff for the Puzzle Box isn't really a gamechanger, but it'll still be nice to have. And the events themselves sound interesting enough; definitely going to be nice to finally see some of the Daemonheim-exclusive baddies show up elsewhere, there's a nice mix of skilling and killing content on display, and it's nice to know that we're getting some new miniquests.

I do have one concern, however; the Day One schedule suggests that each type of event will only be available twice per day, 12 hours apart, and that these hours won't be rotating. This sounds like it could potentially be a real problem for people who have strict limits on when they can play (students, people working steady jobs, teenagers living in households with strict curfews, etc.); it could easily mean that there will be events that some players will never actually get to see because they just can't be online for either of those two hours. Content like Warbands rotates around frequently because of its seven-hour intervals which means that players in that situation can at least experience them once every couple of days, so hopefully there's a bit more of a rotation down the line.

I believe that as the events cycle through each day, the events will eventually hit all 24 hours in the day and that everyone will be able to experience them. It will be tedious to need to find the right time for that specific event, but hopefully doable in the end.

I just hope that the events don't become predictable ( but in this case It might be best). Each day being random could of been a fun way to do these events as well.

Even if they are "random", ppl can still figure them out.

I mean isnt the traveling merch shop supposed to be random as well. yet ppl have figured that out.

There is something called the social media nowadays. If the events were 100% "random" (but they aren't) there definitely would be some social channels we could turn to find out.

Encounters can be tackled in groups and will scale to the number of players involved. If you win an encounter, you all get rewards!

I wonder how this will play out, how much scaling have they done? Obviously I want to win and get the most rewards, so I am hopping to a busy world.

How will the gameplay compare as a solo player vs maybe 300 or more? With low numbers they might struggle to 'win' but in high numbers you might struggle to gain enough contribution for rewards.

Not the point at all.

There is something called context ;) Had you read the entire quote, you would know that I was replying to the idea that people could miss out on certain events. I never stated that people won't figure them out or anything like that.

-When talking about how random the events could be, I don't mean that players won't know about it. I meant that each day the order of events should be random. At 0:00 the event should not be the same each day ( its not going to be anyway because of the rotation)

-How does social media come into play here? :@

That is a good question actually. According to Mod Abe on Reddit this will happen with the combat events:

"All the combat events, KBD included, use scaling health based on the amount of players participating in the event (Similar to how clawdia works during the beach). Hopefully this will keep the events as a challenge no matter how many people engage."

https://www.reddit.com/r/runescape/comments/y28265/introducing_new_wilderness_flash_events_and/

If the scaling is like Clawdia, that I assume the rewards will be based like that too. Just as long as you get in an hit or xp drop?
