Zuk wasn't absolutely needed in EGW, but a Tzhaar boss was because Ful needed minions. It just happened RS3 put Zuk there because he made sense with the RS3 implementation, especially a melee bosses swinging a big T95 BiS sword. However, Inferno doesn't make sense so there is no place for it in RS3.

OSRS ripped off Venator weaponry from RS3 but not Kharid-et because it makes far more sense than introducing something stupid called "Bloodletter" bow. However, there is no need for Kharid-et in OSRS no as the game is too primitive to handle so much lore based content behind it. They may add Kharid-et in the future. Who knows? But for now there is no need for it because all those Archaeology and new content in RS3 are too much for the overly simplistic OSRS.

On the other hand, Zeah is overly simplistic for RS3. They don't have value for RS3, at least for now.

Yes, and they could have simply reforged the host of the Fight Kiln in the Elder Kiln into whatever kind of lava monster they fancied. If they wanted to give TokHaar-Hok opposable thumbs so that he could also be a walking billboard for the Ek-ZekKil, then they could have with a very reasonable understanding of TzHaar lore already in place.

Again, Zuk was not the most obvious choice and it wasn't a direction they need to go in. Swords be damned. Really neat retcons be damned.

....but they went there anyway. It couldn't -possibly- be that some players that may have lapsed to play OSRS would freak out if they saw such a crossover or anything...

I don't know why you're mentioning Venator weapons. The established lore behind the bow in OSRS and the archaeology relics in RS3 are they that belonged to a certain class of Zarosian soldiers. Zarosians borrow a lot of their etymology from the Roman Empire - and "venator" in Latin is "hunter".... Are you arguing that Zarosians aren't allowed to have basic hunters and scouts in both games?

That's not even mentioning that the OSRS team used "Bloodletter" as an alias because they were keeping the quest details secret when that poll was pitched.

This does illustrate quite a significant point though. So much of the lore behind both games is shared, whether you like it or not. Sometimes, one team will take creative liberties, but its almost like Jagex has a singular storyboard for several of these old quest threads. Almost like the game was once a solo title at one point in its history... What's to say Zeah couldn't be an asset that is available to all of Jagex if this is the case?
---

Are you using "simple" as a complaint now? Sometimes things being too complicated makes things worse, not better.

There may be a few OSRS who are disinterested or quit RS3 asked for OSRS content in RS3 but the reality is when it came to surveys and polls, Zeah and such OSRS content
FAILED
.

I don't know what "walking billoard" you are talking about. There is NO such known minion for Ful. There wasn't even one in Battle of the Monolith. The boss of Fight Klin is Har-aken but like Arch-Glacor and Cresous he doesn't walk or use a sword. When RS3 has to just create a loreless "boss" and give it a random name, why didn't they just pick Zuk, which actually means "Champion of the Fire". Zuk is not even a proper name.

There is no where in either RS3 or OSRS does Roman or Latin is mentioned. Venator is the name of a the weapons in the 2nd Age. Please read the OSRS polls. They explicitly polled a weapon called Bloodletter Bow, not a bow aliased "Bloodletter". When they finally released it, they even mentioned the name of the Bloodletter Bow was changed to Venator.

"Should the
Bloodletter Bow
, a ranged weapon that excels at damaging multiple targets, be added as a drop from the mysterious phantom boss?"

https://secure.runescape.com/m=poll/oldschool/results?id=1652

OSRS polled the Bloodletter Bow, not a bow aliased Bloodletter Bow. It passed but when it was released it got changed to Venator Bow to make it consistent with RS3.

RS3 also sent out surveys including the one OP mentioned regarding Zeah. It didn't do well and as I mentioned on the first page, Jagex went over it in a livestream. I am not going in circle, please go back to read posts on the first page.

Besides, consumers clearly voted for the RS3 Zuk when Jagex partnered with SFG for a Table top game. Partners voted with their wallets and thumbed up the RS3 version of Zuk with his signature Ek-ZekKil in his hand:

Not -that- poll, the survey you keep talking about Zeah about....

> Look at the context of that poll question. 'Secrets of the North' has what is known as the 'Phantom Muspah' as its final boss. HOWEVER, if they had said "Should the Venator Bow, a weapon that hits multiple targets, be a drop from the Phantom Muspah as described in the blog?' during the time they were polling the quest, you see that we are dealing with Zarosian/Freneskaen entities and that would have spoiled the contents of the quest to a certain extent.

They wanted the contents of this quest to remain under wraps until they released it - so that's why they didn't call it "bloodletter bow" in the final product. That change to Venator? Not polled. It wasn't as if people just thought the name was stupid.

I know assuming that Old School's team has rocks for brains is a weird fixation you have. Cut it out. It's incredibly frustrating to deal with.

after "reading the first page" as you so kindly requested.... I learned nothing.

I've seen you, in your own words, tell me Zeah didn't work out in some poll. Show me those results.

I already showed you what the Jagex teams (both RS3 and OSRS) did their pollings on content. I also showed you what the Runescape Tabletop game who actually paid well over $1 million real money wanted (the RS3 Zuk with his signature big sword and his legs too).

There is really nothing more to talk about. RS3 did send out opinion survey regarding Zeah a few years ago. They have also went all the logistics of not putting Zeah content in RS3. If RS3 playes wanted Zeah, they would have talked about it years after the poll and the livestream, but they didn't. That's why we are all very happy with Anachronia and EGW now.

No, you didn't.... and you didn't even tell me what the poll was titled, so I had to dig for it myself.

If I'm correct (and I don't know that I am), I found a post from former Mod Poerkie - back in 2018 mind you - about "guiding the future of RuneScape." Naturally, the actual survey link no longer exists, but the Reddit comments don't really explain anything other than some players being confused because some of the questions asked about OSRS content as if it was in the game already. In the context of Zeah, people may not have even had a clue what the place was (other comments below seem to indicate such confusion, as the map of Gielinor that features both Zeah and Daemonheim is the image Peorkie uses in the post as it was the merchandise give-away they were running at the time.)

This survey A - wasn't about Zeah specifically, B - wasn't any indication whatsoever that player's didn't care for the continent at all because some of the Reddit comments about the survey imagery were genuinely intrigued, and C - is now FIVE YEARS old. This came from a time where TzKal-Zuk wasn't in the game at all, and thus there wasn't really any representation of OSRS content in the game at that time.

Remember that old poll about "bringing the Wilderness and Free Trade back" that Jagex doesn't seem to adhere to anymore and its critics pan as "outdated" among other things?

At what point is this survey's results - which you don't even have access to in order to make the claims you have about it - become old enough to scrutinize?

This just seemed like an annual gauge of interest that would be used merely to generate interaction with players that originally, had to provide an email address to Jagex and allow them to send emails to them in order to access in the first place. This isn't conclusive of anything.

There was a large RS3 general survey with a lot of questions in all categories many years ago. There was no title for such a big survey. Please read the very first post of this thread. OP knew about this poll and we are talking about this poll. If you still don't know, too bad and I don't think there is anything for us to discuss with you.

Meanwhile, all those who know about the poll OP talked about should know there wasn't a title for it because it covered numerous topic. Those who know about RS3 surveys should know there is no results showing percentages of whatever question. Jmods only made comments and revealed them to us in social media. For those who are really interested in why RS3 looked at the poll result and decided not to make Zeah and Fossil Island please feel free to discuss their comments.
