Like... It's been sitting around for more than ten years. Sure, it's not a popular questline but it's not right to just leave it hanging. I hope they come back and finish it off for the sake of continuity if nothing else.
I'd certainly agree with the wish to have this quest line furthered; it always has interesting puzzles, and some wonderful law!
I've not heard anything mentioned about it, since it was polled, as an option, quite some Years back (I think it can have been no later than 2015); I don't remember much, but know I voted for it (and it didn't win
that
time).
Given that there are no current plans addressing this, it might be best to ask for your thread to be moved to the Existing Game Content (as it addresses expanding something already in-game), or Game Content Suggetions Forum sections - as it'll possibly gain more response, there (if you decide that's a good idea, you can ask for a move on the
Forum Help Thread
<- clicking that will take you there).
I hope you get some good responses, and support, either way; I love puzzles, and RC, so Ele Workshop, and GOP, are pretty much the best content, in my view!
There is really nothing hanging from the stupid Elemental Workshop quest from the story side. The players aren't interested anyway. We were given the opportunities to suggest new Seer's Village content years ago, not just the stupid Elemental Workshop, but regretfully nobody was interested and we ended up only having Catheby being reworked.
I've always thought the elemental workshop questline was interesting. It feels so secretive and historic. It would be fun to maybe include archaeology in the next quest if they were to be releasing another one. Where we could potentially navigate deeper into the hidden area and uncover lost secrets.
Still 'scaping!

The last time it was mentioned was during a game jam a couple of years ago.

3 more quests unlocking 2 sets of armour each, albeit we never heard from that project ever again afterwards. Doesn't need to mean anything - the high levelled abyssals also were released 5 years late. Albeit Rowley currently is working on other things including our upcoming skill.

given the storyline involved with the workshop that is interesting. the original intent ive heard was for the soul altar to be unlocked in the end, the quests leading to what is a soul and how to bind it. so in a way having it involved with necromancy would kinda fit!
Blood and Soul armor sets should follow suit...
Think about it....
Elemental Shields...Mind Helmets and Shields...Elemental Mind and Body equipment to follow...and lastly...Cosmic and Chaos gears.
If they follow the trend, so to speak, Blood and Soul based equipment should follow suit, or perhaps some t60 or t70 weapons that would work sufficiently well against magic weaknesses?
You never know anymore with the way this games progressing, but it just seems more aimed at the top tier players who boss 24/7 and cry about needing something new.
Jagex has long since forgotten that not everyone cares about bossing, but us casuals being able to just relax and progress through the game doing various things instead of intensively pounding our mouse or keyboard in frustration or trying to que attacks...ok you see where I'm going with this.
Quests and the Lore behind them always make the gameplay much more interesting to say the least...especially when we can unlock new ways to play as it were.

The Ele"mental" workshop story was unnecessary difficult to the point of annoying. By difficult I mean all the running around uhhgg far too annoying puzzles. The elemental gear was relevant for maybe a month then better gear came out. Hope it's dead-buried and cemented over
