Well, it looks now like the solution was to skip the middle man, double the proposed GE tax and NOT give a poll.

Taxation without representation?

No way they would try to pull a stunt like that.

But I guess they have no confidence in their position at this point in time. They would lose the poll if it was worded fairly.

What, other than direct theft, have they even tried to reduce the coins in the past 6-9 months?

Instead they invented a whole new tier of alchables because the previous ones were too low. Same developer. Same game.

Moving on, as they said, 2% tax was the perfect amount to offset the imaginary death costs. So convenient, because now any further changes to the economy can be seen as an over-reaction based on too little information.

We need to sit on that new economy for at least 9 months. Considering the timescale shown here, let's double that no questions asked.

Players dictate the economy in RS3, even with the GE tax. Why should there be questions asked when we still dictate the prices we eventually want to sell or buy an item?

From Jagex's perspective, there aren't focusing on a specific item or category of items, or the economy of a niche community. Just leave the invisible hand off the market, and we will be all fine and the economy will continue to go strongly as it is.

Of course it was not going to be polled - even OS just pushed it through as an integrity change - you know, the game that polls every so small piece of crap, so it's certainly approved by the community - as a replacement for their rampant staking in the duel arena, which was taxed in contrary to RS3. And as if RS3 would poll anything beyond do you want content A or B released? Or how should a certain piece of content look like.

I mean we'll basically have three scenarios: It just is a replacement for the death costs, so basically no changes at all to inflation (which they basically stated), it's not sufficiently enough as a replacement, causing further inflation (which really would be an issue, since they would have rise the tax further and/or introducing other gold sinks - which for itself doesn't need to be a bad thing - OS has basically introduced a kitchen sink for 50m for instance) - or it overcompensates for the death costs, which is a net positive for everybody, since it makes your low value activities matter more.

I am absolutely with you, that the fee should be re-reviewed after a set amount of time.

And I am absolutely with you they should do something about salvage - it probably wouldn't hurt if bronze and iron weren't absolute worthless junk and everything beyond that would scale slower, instead of leaping from tier to tier.

To be clear, I didn't invent the poll, that was part of their plan from day 1.

Survey, or call for ideas perhaps, but obviously it is already officially announced Death Costs and Combat Event will be coming in January 2023. No "polls" required.

The poll was "required" because they said it was. The other poster was implying they were never going to poll it. It was worded as a great revelation that I had somehow missed.

If you wanted any more information on that topic I would refer you up to page 2 post 1. Hot!

The fact is RS3 doesn't do the "poll" you think. They did have surveys and polls kind of opinions gathering activities conducted on various social and target marketing media often. They only use such "poll" results as reference only.

...We'll also be asking you to share your views soon, so keep your eye out for an upcoming poll and have your voice heard!

It doesn't matter what I think. That's from their death cost "blog" on July 15. It's not the only time they mentioned this poll.
