One last remark about the Wilderness Flash events: they give a dark facet of grace (used for Archaeology mostly), dark facet of passage (used for Runecrafting), and dark facet of luck (searching for clues, kinda what we're doing right now). Now we also got new skilling dummies released recently: Archaeology and Dungeoneering. Remember what I said about the Infernal Source and the Civil War questline? And then we have the Runecrafting stuff from the Garden of Kharid as well, which also ties in with the Civil War. And lots of references to stars and Erebus. Also the recent clue hunt from that Garden of Kharid update had you
go to Daemonheim for a witch wand and was based on Archaeology lore. Dungeoneering, Archaeology and an element of magic once again.
To conclude: I think Astromancy is either an Elite skill with Runecrafting, Archaeology and Dungeoneering, which is of course RAD. I think demons, dragons, stars, shadow anima and Erebus are heavily involved.
Orrrrr if it's not an elite skill, then it will at least influence these skills a lot.
Thanks for your attention folks
I could've written it in a more concise manner but did more research as I was writing.

... shooting star update. Stargazer shoulder cape. Aurora dye... It's all connected to the sky.
Yeah, I think so. Mass Effect type of skill would be cool (helping different civilisations is a theme of Runescape questing). It'd give them a blank canvas to work with for new content.

I recall they wanted to do something with 'seasons' and cosmology would be ideal for that.

Wouldn't it be cool to have our own little space-ship, they could set it up like dungeoneering (with tools and resources in the first room / the flight deck) imagine, we travel to other planets, help different civilisations, discover new resources, yada yada?

We find out today. Don't forget to tune in. Same bat time, same bat channel.
The document's final section will be revealed during our livestream on December 13th at 16:00. We have a feeling this is gonna be pretty big. You won't want to miss it!
IF there weren't enough clues floating around, the email newsletter pretty much settles it.
Most excitingly, a brand new X REDACTED X
They are definitely not talking about a brand new game engine, player model or login server. Although if I am wrong I would gladly take that hit in exchange for an upgrade to any of those, so I can't lose.

I think the new skill is either Necromancy or Shapeshifting (Or a mix of both! See point 5) and here are the reasons why I think that is :
1) Jagex is pushing players heavily towards combat. (e.g.: lowering death costs, making combat easier with OP weapons, buffing existing weapons like dragon specs, OP armors that make combat afk, new spells that make those OP armors make combat seem like a joke, etc.)
2) On that note, making combat easier and more afkable, let's not forget that mobile is a big part of RS now, which is probably why everything needs to be less hands on so players can actually enjoy the mobile experience and not just for afk skilling.
3) Necromancy/Shapeshifting would be a new way to do combat that aligns with mobile play, more afk, your player sits back while your conjuration, or your new (Stronger transformation) fights for you, so less risk to the player.
4) I know OSRS is pushing towards player "classes" (I might be wrong I haven't player OSRS, I heard that in a video). Necromancy/Shapeshifting would be a complete new way of doing combat, hence a new class and honestly something that RS needs as we've only had 3 classes since RS was created (excluding the classic version).
5) Quest hints:
- The player has been imbued with strange powers every time a Mahjarrat has died and more recently when
a certain Mahjarrat was killed during succession
. I think all of those powers, coming from beings that are strong in magic and often use necromancy/shapeshifting will have an effect on the player.
- That one quest where we were summoning the dead (can't remember which one).
- I think most quests with Moia we've controlled her and used her abilities as if she was our own player. That combat style could be applied to necromancy.
- Majharrat keep dying and giving us powers
Lucien, Sliske, Bilrach
Thoughts?
