Why not do a universal drop by a really low precentage? .1 would be pretty much unnoticed on many items and even those affected wouldnt lose much coinage. highly doubt anyone is using the alch machines for 1-10gp profit margins.

It probably shouldn't have that much of an effect, but as Delta said - there are lots of items. So it potentially might be better to tackle them by classes, since that also would allow more control of what you might want to elevate and what to nerf - I said it in other threads salvage could be made more gradual, that also will help to future proof the thing, since well - now that necronium salvage is a thing, bane one also potentially could become one - and we certainly do not need something like 500k times size for those then. And then going a few years further something like 2m times size for elder rune.

But for instance an alch value of 100/250/500/1k/2.5k/5k/10k/25k times size for the existing kinds and 50k/100k times size for potential bane and elder rune would make higher tiered ones much more favourable for disassembly rather than outright alching them. And if you alch them they won't generate as much GP as they currently do - while still being worthwile (lower tiered ones moreso). They also could consider to replace the kinds often dropped by rarer ones (that both means a tiny spiky rune salvage could be replaced by tiny rune blunt or huge adamant spiky) - which also will make them more favourable for disassembly.

And that is why salvage needs to be brought to adequate levels now .

The current system is based on more or less random values assigned back in the day during RSC for stuff up to runite (with runite even buffed up slighly to have round numbers) and then extrapolated for orikalkum and necrite. My proposal for an elder rune salvage with fixed scaling basically is necrite right now - just more valuable for disassembly, since it obviously would produce less junk.

But if nothing is done you can bet your bacon they'll release some huge elder rune salvage as some 8 million alch one day - they did release necrite after all...

Alch by .1% would do nothing.
Something that alcs for 1000 gold is now 999. Something that is 10000 gold is now 9990.

You would only see it affect adamant salvage and above.

If they wanted to do something about gold rates, alc prices would have to be dropped by 5-25%.

They said it'd take a 50% reduction to balance gold generation entirely on it but that doesn't mean a smaller reduction wouldn't be viable alongside other things. They didn't really offer an upper limit on what % reduction they'd consider doable but .1% would definitely be too small. I have to agree that the alch values could use some adjustments to be more consistent with eachother, as well as balancing it in relation to their disassembling value. I don't think anything should be alchable for more than 1M. How to block a forum user

I think things like the relics are also a main thing of alcing money.
Most people will put those in machines because that's only way to get money of them.

But I also just Alc visage after turned into Dragonfire shield to lot of times.

That is just me ofc and it is a really small tiny amount, but still I can image a lot of people do the same thing.

Personally, I'm not opposed.

The main issue is the sheer number of items in game that would require such an update.

If there is a need for a quick and easy fix, why not do away with it entirely?

Take the machines and the spells right out of the game. Would anyone rage & quit over that? If so, why?
