I believe everybody has their favorite way of playing combat in this game, despite some mobs are better fought with a specific combat style but not the others (e.g. most people don't melee Telos).

Of course, we have Necromancy now, so there is something even more interesting to combating even the old bosses and other mobs we have been enjoying for years.

Personally, prior to Necromancy, I preferred melee over other combat styles for mobs without specific strength against, because of the highest dps output from Berserk the other combat style don't give. How about you?

And with Necromancy, I am leaning on learning a totally new combat style with skill trees which most gamers outside Jagex may refer to as a class rather. If I have a choice to "rebalance" the 4 combat styles, I will like to see Necromancy being the strongest for the moment and gradually work the other 3 usual combat styles into similar skill tree analogies.

Do you want a more balanced combat system or do you prefer to have a specific combat style you want to prioritize or even stick to?

Original message details are unavailable.
I like old school combat.

You can play Legacy Mode, or much advised the much better and equally simple Revolution mode, if you want to. However, regardless, you will still have to deal with the same 4 combat styles that we are talking about rebalancing.

I basically comped in legacy so I'm aware.
However Jagex doesn't cater to legacy any longer.

However regardless of your opinion that legacy is old school combat it isn't.

In old school the triangle is triangular.
Mage beats melee beats range beats mage.

Auto retaliate works.

You can point and click.

You can bind and freeze and teleblock and spec.

It's a beautiful thing.

That's absolutely not what my opinion. We are talking about RS3 combat rebalancing. You can still use melee, ranged and magic combat styles, but they aren't "old school" as you can still use them in RS3.

There's actually only one game.
Runescape.
Balancing combat kn Runescape means balancing the combat triangle.
Obviously eoc has no combat triangle.
That's why it's called tierscape.
That's why however much you claim legacy is old school combat it isn't.
Among many many very simple other reasons.

I like what they are going to do to new Necromancy bosses. As Mod Ryan said, they won't be as easy as Rasial as we will need to use specific Necromancy mechanics to fight them.

Currenty, Necromancy seems to be quite powerful, but eventually it will be specifically powerful to Necromancy mobs and some existing ones but the other 3 skills will soon take their chance to balance up Necromancy. This is what I like to see.
