Why are the new swords t85 in normal mode??? t85 is the same as blade of nymora and avaryss from gw2. Why would they be the same tier as Gw2 when gw3 is a step up from gw2. Really dumb. Not complaining about t95 variants but making the original t85 is just stupid. Also please dont make these as small an upgrade as Drygore to Khopesh...... at least give it a special attack. May as well just use drygores at that point to avoid death costs. Really keeping gw3 the same tier as GW2........ comon.......

We don't have all the information yet. However, it is not hard to tell even now the new T85 weapons are very different from the GWD2 T85.
I have no doubt they dissemble into different rare components. We already know the new encounter is very scalable and customizable. The mechanics are very different too as we even have the powers to choose what mechanics.
GWD3 is definitely not the same tier of GWD2 as we can't get anything over T85 in GWD2 but we can get even T95 in GWD3.
True but thats in hard mode. The normal mode drops shouldnt be the same tier as normal mode god wars 2....
Also how are they different? cosmetically ? they look like some swords and if theyre t 85 .... theyre the same t85 swords that look different......

Again, same tier doesn't mean the same thing. They have different usages and dissembled into different rare items. Besides, normal mode GWD3 bosses have other new rare item drops than GWD2 ones.
There is no need to make any item to give no death cost as they are experimenting making normal mode GWD3 safe death next. This feature can be made permanent in the future.
Avaryss and Nymora aren't t85. They are t80 damage with t90 accuracy and require lvl85 attack to equip.
The new swords could be straight t85 stats across the board or do a different odd stat spread than gwd2 weapons (ex: t90 damage with t80 accuracy and require lvl85 attack to equip).
Yeah t85 melee weapons really are a tough niche - we've got ripper claws, lava whip (main hand only), tetsu and fury blades (less damage, more accuracy) so far - so two full sets of standard t85. Albeit everything between 80 and 90 is sorta occupied already, albeit certainly nothing as much as t85 is. They probably could place them at t87, like the lesser kopesh was at t82 - or they make a t85 weapon with higher damage and less accuracy.

Stat of the new T85 weapons may not be really that important when its main purpose is to serve as the necessary ingredient for the T95 melee gear.
It is like the rare rings dropped by Dagannoth Kings. Their stats aren't good but their values can be high because we need them to make the new T95 BiS 1H melee gear.
They have scaled this boss so you could just hit it until it’s dead. I am surprised you get anything at all doing this boss without all the mechanics.. t85 weapons is actually pretty good
I am not really interested in the new staff. It looks nice sure but I can’t for the life of me understand why people are paying so much for it when inquisitor is better on the right bosses
Nah I’m really stoked for these.
Hurricane on dual is op as hell. Will go back to dual than 2h with these
Though this makes the grico nerf even more laughable and uncalled for tbf
