The finale of Daughter of Chaos almost certainly won't be in Summer 2023. Given we are likely going to have a Free Death Week in or before January 2023, we are highly likely going to have the finale of Daughter of Chaos in or before January 2023. Besides, please check the roadmap, they didn't even have anything related to Daughter of Chaos in the 2023 portion, strongly suggesting the current storyline will run its course in early 2023, if not even earlier.
Don't forget we can have 2 Infernal Puzzle Box unlocks in the same month. It happened already in the month of the Daughter of Chaos series (August) already.

Legacy of Zamorak is still planned to conclude in 2022, barring any further unexpected surprises. A new storyline will kick off in 2023. - Mod Jack"
Seems like we have a conclusive answer from the RS3 team now.
I am 100% correct, so is Mod Keeper's Roadmap. the Daughter of Chaos 6-month-ish series is planned to conclude by the end of this year, and still is. No development works or scheduling is being affected just because other external factor caused the September Infernal Puzzle Box unlock being push back to October.
Great to hear there is no disruption of the RS3's Daughter of Chaos production despite of some external factor. And even greater to hear we will have an exciting new storyline coming up at the very beginning of 2023.
Mod Spear brought up the point he saw Free Death somewhere in the coming updates. There is no reason why Free Death Week would be in FSW but not the main game anyway.
Actually, we know FSW ends in January 9, it means there is a Free Death Week in the full game before January 9. It likely suggests the final boss fight will be in or before January 9 and therefore Daughter of Chaos is likely to end in January then the next storyline starts in the later weeks of January 2023, unless they have 2 different significant pvm updates in the next 4 months.
Well to answer this question about free death week:

RE: Free Death Weeks until the Death Cost Update
None planned for the rest of the year right now, but it's a great point. We'll talk to the team and see if we can bring back Free Deaths before the Death Cost Rework we're targeting for early (hopefully very early!) 2023.
For anyone returning to RuneScape for Fresh Start Worlds, there's a buff available later into the event that will provide Free Deaths too. - Mod Mic
Guess we shall see if they have sooner than sometime next year

When Daughter of Chaos is said to be concluded by the end of this year, we are likely going to have some end boss(es) to fight. This is traditionally when we have Free Death Week.

I don't expect to see the new storyline in January of 2023. Mod Jack just means that it will start in 2023 at some point ( much like the Current story line kicked off in the summer of 2022). My hunch is that the new storyline will tie into the new skill and I don't expect to see that until March.

Not necessarily January 2023. It can be February but unlikely we will see a gap of more than 2 months in RS3's series, especially since the formation of the Episodic team.
I think you guys all have far greater imaginations than they do. Me? I can't help but wrap my thoughts around something MTX-y as that seems to be the only content they're concerned with these days and I shudder to even speculate on what that might be.
So far the only thing that's been confirmed is that it won't be an Elite skill. I suppose we should be grateful for that at least.
Death Cost reduction is coming "as early as possible" in 2023, together with other GE updates. So early January, and they are planning a Free Death Week in January too. This probably suggests some combat content in January 2023.
: I like to imagine this will be like the Flash mobs that we have come to know over the years, only in the wilderness. We shall see soon

We should now be 100% certain this event is nowhere close to randomly spawned Demon Flashmobs in Wildy.
Glad to see we have both skilling and combat in the same events, although it is still not clear whether we are going to have 1 week for skilling and then next week for combat or a combination of them in the same week.
Even more glad to see the Scalable activities. I think all kinds of skillers and killers of all levels are welcome to these events.
