OSRS has gotten a lot of great content over the years, a lot of which I wish was in RS3 (looking at you, sequel quests!), but some of which has transferred over (Fossil Island, and Necromancy in a subset of magic form is also in OSRS iirc), and sailing is something RS players of all stripes have been praying to happen for years, so hopefully, in a few years time, like Fossil Island and Necromancy before it, RS3 will get sailing as well. Looking forward to exploring the oceans of RuneScape (under them as well, in our diving suit)!

We already have all the "Sailing" OSRS trying to talk about already.

We already have The Arc, all the pirate stories, ED3, etc OSRS definitely doesn't have.

What OSRS talked about Sailing is what we have seen in The Deadliest Catch quest. It features us moving our boat in the sea instead of land and hunt a sea monster called Thalassus. It is really nothing new.

Since then we also have a minigame and achievements to hunt Thalassus.

We also have Agoroth to fight too.

Nothing OSRS trying to make is new or even original. We have them in RS3 for a very long time.

I wouldn't mind sailing for the sole reason that a tradeable item that skips that awful pop minigame gets added

Sailing activities are all minigames, and RS3 did it right by making POP and all the seafaring activities minigames with minigame-ish rewards, and not a "skill". Great for RS3 and no controversies and uproars and only fun and rewards these years since player owned content.

Sailing is really old content, not just in RS3 but all kinds of video games.

We have all kinds of sailing content in RS3 for well over a decade, there is simply not enough good ideas there to add to the already well established RS3. Perhaps all is left is to just travel to the Eastern Land, but this won't be anything to do with Sailing, or even a skill. It is just about a new continent with totally new cultures.

If RS3 is going for navigation content, we are more than likely going through the 3D route as indicated in the Runescape Remastered blueprints the Skyrim style. We will be flying instead of sailing, and we will be somersetting off high moutains. Geronimo!
