Runescape is a "completionist" game. There's no real point to a skill tree with pickable talents if you're gonna end up with them all by the end anyway.

Agreed. If all path choices lead to the same completed result, then I'd prefer a simple sequence of level based unlocks.

Different builds lead to different results. Communing a team of undead armies and blasting our targets with necro damages definitely offer different gameplays and different results.

No, they don't, which was the point of my post. In Runescape, all paths ultimately lead towards the same builds and the same results at the end of the road.

Because Runescape is extremely topheavy, more time will be spent at higher levels where skill-trees have smaller impact, or no impact when maxed. It's superfluous.
Don't forget – RuneScape members get TWO free spins a day instead of the usual one!

Not true at all with RS3 Necromancy, and we can't have the same builds against different targets when some of them are immune to all but Necromancy attacks. That's why RS3 Necromancy is so game changingly great. :)

No

So many games take this path and it would be more than silly to just copy the idea just to be a carbon copy of many other games, just like season passes/yak trak every game is so similar now and it's completely bonkers.

There are bad games pretending to have "builds" for their characters. There are also vastly successful ones that offer robust diversity of mechanics and game content.

What RS3 can and should do is to learn from the failures of those pretenders that offer no mechanics and force players into cookie cutter "official" builds, and utilize the diversity and extensibility of their 22 year old systems to let RS3 players experience the true powers of the game.

What RuneScape should do is hire a visionary who can actually envision a great game to create, instead of random people with a degree or what not who incorporate little bits of cool things from other games like they have clearly been doing for many years now.......

That being said, the owners of the company should learn how to stand up straight and take responsibility to invest in a great game, not a carbon copy game.

RS3 has hired the right people, that's why they keep breaking revenue records on one hand, and keep showing (note showing and not just talking about...) us great updates.

No other games has a 4th totally standalone, game changing, combat style after 22 years. Almost no, (if any at all) MMORPG has as much skilling content and allows skillers to train combat without killing a mob like RS3.

This is where you and I lose conversation, I care about player #'s and player enjoyment, all you care about are company profits.

You are playing to much RuneScape if you think no game is revolutionizing combat, this game doesn't even need to do it for combat, they've spent 10 forsaken years working on combat with literally zero player growth.

If there's anything Jagex should do is to work on the combat styles to make PVP enticing for average and above average players, something that they've literally never done for a very large RuneScape PVP fanbase.... unless Jagex doesn't want new players, but they've been screaming it for 2 years now so I'd think they do.
Be nice and help people
........ * No sarcasm towards this action please. * :P IGN:

I discuss the topic with every player, not just for "conversation" with you.

I care for players I can play with when I need them, not the meaningless "concurrent players" who may be just 1 person/bot logging in 24/7.

I care about what real Jmods, including but not limited to the CEO of Jagex told us about the growing, and better than ever number of players and profits and even more importantly their plan for the next 20 years, not words from the ones who are disinterested in RS3 and/or didn't play it for 15 years.

I care about actual great quality content I can see and play, not what someones keep telling they CAN and MAY do this or that IF this and that.

RS3 doesn't overpromise. They told us they will give us pvp in Necromancy if the community wants it. We may even have a pvp build in the Necromancy Skill Tree too. We just have to wait for the official release of Necromancy and then let the entire RS3 community interested in RS3 and playing RS3 to weigh in.
