Skill tree concept for Necromancy is going to prove that players have unique playstyles...of course, we're going to see the PVM players max out everything combat related, and that will present a huge problem for a lot of us in the long haul...and make PVP even more of a Flop than it already is.

Let's face it...RS4 should be released and allow us to actually construct our characters based on how WE want to do stuff...oh wait, we already do.
Path of Exile is a wonderful game, but the recent...drops...in the seasonal play have become extremely stale and the fact the game crashes left and right, makes me question stuff.
I don't want the same fate for RS, as we already experience crashes on certain things that have been reported, but still plight us from time to time.

If necromancy is going to be a Skill Tree based ordeal, it needs to have multiple branches PER acquired level. A primary example would be the 4 Main Trees of PoE that we can build upon, and branch off to, and merge into by level 100 (which takes quite a bit of time to level past 95). Skill Book and Skill Point rewards should also be available to further expand our tree/branch choices. Giving necromancy quests and tasks the means of leveling up, is going to be ineffective, and push players to either "lamp" their way to 120 or just ignore the skill completely.

If we're going to utilize quest points as a for of active skill tree points being awarded to us, this is going to hinder skillers tremendously. So making the ability to receive points in other ways will prove very viable, and a point cap per Tier of the skill is acceptable...say, 3 - 30 points per Tier in extra awarded "Free" points.
A lot to consider, but its worth it. Let's also not forget Gem/Orb/Trinket enhancements to specific portions of the skill tree. Enhancers will take the skill to even greater heights like in other MMORPG's. Great example would be the Orb's found in PoE or Materia from Final Fantasy 7 or "draws".

Need I continue?

How so? Skiller get the upper hand obviously. It is like the Archaeology Monolith powers, but the Necromancy Talents can only be unlocked with skilling and products crafted by skillers. PvMers have to do skilling themselves.

Skillers become even more influential in RS3 after Necromancy, especially all those new Necromancy items and game play are going to bring even far more sparks to the totally player driven RS3 economy.

Remember one crucial thing...
The way they're making necromancy sound, its going to cause combat xp gain...you know what skillers have to say about that...gotta maintain those perfect 0's in all combat or their account's trashed.

You made a thread on how necromancy is raising the combat cap and combat level.

Skillers, by definition, aren't going to raise their combat level.

Sure there will be a few "pures" like how there's summoning pures that don't train other combat stats, but this is a clear case of a skill that's unfavorable to skillers.

One of the reasons I play RuneScape over other MMOs is that I can try everything with one character. If the game ever evolves into something where we can only choose one path, and we have to create a new character to try something else, then I am out of here. Just the thought of doing all quests over again to unlock whatever they unlock. Not to mention the time it takes to level up a character. No thanks.

I am not opposed to having skill trees, but I must be able to reset them at will, so I can try out other branches. I want to be able to play all aspects of the game with only one character.

How does skill pures have to do with skill tree mainly for combat? If they don't care about combat, they don't care about skill trees. Skill trees are for the ones who want to participate in the new skill.

holly f i hope to god this dosnt happen

hell, i quit wow to get away from skill trees. just let us play how we want

The great thing about Necromancy is you don't need to invest in skill trees just like you don't have to invest in any aspect of melee/ranged/magic. Of course, for those who want to be more specialized in certain aspect of melee/ranged/magic, we will have even more choices with Necromancy.
