Due to the predatory nature of the proposed Fresh Start Worlds, I've canceled the subscription for this account. If the game mode is launched in its currently pitched state, I will also be canceling my main account.
So due to something that has 0 connections to the real game, you're doing this?
Im sorry, but ppl are really taking this too far. You can dislike it all you want, more power to you, but in the end this does nothing to hurt jagex as every time 1 person "quits", 2 more subscribe.

Unfortunately, the game mode does connect with the real game. Once the event is over, the accounts that have been made carry over to the real game.
They get to carry the benefits of 4x (until level 70, then 3x) exp rates, as well as a 20% drop chance for four months to the main game. It's a slap in the face, and this is how I choose to have my voice heard.
It might not go a long way, but if other like-minded people do the same, Jagex will listen.

Yet i didnt see ppl quitting over things like DotD or DarkScape.
Those game modes did not connect with the main game the way these new servers might do.
Its an interesting topic you brought up OP, I just found out from this thread that the accounts made in these servers will go into the main game. RS used to be a grinding game and content was locked behind many achievements and quests. It seems that jagex seek ways to make the game easier for new players.

Level 70 is trash in RS3. Nobody really jump for joy getting 20% higher drop chance on Bandos trash.
Yes, Jagex will listen to people with the like mind. That's why they are listening to the lapsed and new payers and make Fresh Start Worlds for both RS3 and OSRS.
They gave rewards the same way these will so how you can say that is astounding.
Wrong, they handed out rewards and, in Darkscapes case, compensations for the sudden closing of those servers. Never before we had a game mode that allows you to carry the progress from a game mode to another. How can people not be able to make the difference between rewards and transferred progress is indeed mind boggling.

Yet thats pretty much the same is it not?
All 3 of these are giving rewards that transfer over to the main game so thats nothing new.
Loyalty program wasn't enough for you?
Limited time double XP events weren't enough for you?
XP boosts for refer-a-friend wasn't enough for you?
Sellable XP in the form of Squeal of fortune wasn't enough for you?
Summoning having its mechanics entirely reworked in order to support gems earned off Squeal wasn't enough for you?
New Rares sold on Squeal wasn't enough for you?
Game-impacting legendary pets sold on Solomon's wasn't enough for you?
Was ironman predatory? You can't play those on your existing account.
Runescape has been out for a little over 21 years.
Squeal has been around for 10.
Your XP is already worthless.
It's been that way for a while. Stop fretting over Jagex trying to bring in new players, because your XP will be even MORE worthless if there's no one around to care about XP in the first place.
If you genuinely cared about Jagex's
actual
predatory practices, you'd be long gone.
