Is the Duke, Duchess or Dux of Fort Forinthry going to take over Edgeville next door
eventually
?

Fort Forinthry is going to expand. It is likely during war time we will be expanding further north in the Wilderness, but what about a couple of years later when war is over? It is logical Edgeville will fall into this duke's capable hands. Four paws goods, two hands better.

Huh? There is not much left in Edgeville after its destruction by the Dragonkin following the Ritual of Mahjarrat. Of course, we don't care about this trash for now. Besides, Adrasteia can make us the Duke of Edgeville anytime. It wasn't even up to the dead Duke Hoarse.

We just want the bigger prize in the Wilderness for the time being. The future plot will probably send us to remaster Varrock and Edgeville after we beat up on Moia.

Of course, a cat can't even talk to humans, let alone command them to do anything. We already know this plot is to set up the mighty Duke of Fort Forinthry as the eventual Duke of Mishtalin.

The Duchy of Edgeville was supposed to be transferred to Princess (yes, the dog), according to Cole Hoarse's will. This ended up not being legally possible, and the authorities instead transferred it to Duke Hoarse's sister, who promptly banished Rodney (whom she apparently never cared for) and Princess (whom she very rightly was annoyed with for having rights to Edgeville in the former Duke's will over her - at least in the operational sense.) from Edgeville indefinitely, causing them to look for a place to settle before Aster recommends they work for us.

---

So there is currently an unknown Duchess of Edgeville who was the former Duke's sister. Therefore, the Duke(-chess/-ux) of Forinthry has no claim to the duchy.

Dogs should be legally allowed to be a duke on Gielinor when we have dogs legally elected as mayors in California. Of course, these dogs have human deputies who hold the actual executive powers. That's where the Duke of Fort Forinthry will kick in eventually.

Not only did Jagex introduce a Duke of Edgeville out of nowhere, anybody noticed Duke Haracio was a no show because of a "cake related accident"?

There is some political movement behind these events. The Misthalin bureaucracy is going to change later.

Well, unfortunately (or very fortunately, depending on who you ask) for Princess, Edgeville is not located in California, but in the Kingdom of Misthalin. If it were within the legal constraints to allow the dog to hold the duchy, it would have never ended up being given to the new Duchess, because Princess was to hold it according to the former Duke as part of his dying testament. It wasn't.

As much as I adore Duke Horacio, he'll need to either have a word with his chef about how to prepare cakes, or have a word with said chef about the minimum cooking level requirement to start Cook's Assistant. If he's going to keep consuming baked goods prepared by people with 1 Cooking for a quarter of a century, he's doing it to himself at this point.

(I don't think I'm ready, let alone willing after how much I have come to absolutely adore Roald and Ellamaria after this last quest, to assume there's to be a regime change of some kind. I feel like Lady Ruthven was a hidden "diversity" inclusion to the cast as a younger woman with a darker skin complexion - and that her being present in Horacio's stead was part of a great way to add a number of people with questionable personalities into a whodunnit quest. People "know" Duke Horacio. He's not the kind of character you would see in a murder mystery, and he's also a middle-aged to older white guy, and his demeanor may be too similar to Roald's if they were trying to write him into the plot.)

"That's the question on everyone's mind - and time is ticking! Needless to say, tensions are running high and the Misthalin leaders rarely see eye to eye at the best of times.
This is political
- as well as personal - dynamite."

We just haven't gotten to the
political
part yet. It may likely take a while, but the murder is driven by politics.

Besides, have anybody thought of a reason why "-Z" wanted to kill Ellamaria but not the most important Duke of Fort Forinthry and the less but still important Roald? What would Zamorakians gain with Ellamaria dead?
