well you guys can be happy with donating your millions of gp in return for mince pie and mulled wine but i believe the rest of the runescape community deserves better for chrismas. at least i am not being a "grinch" for christmas and donating alot of "garbage" for a better reward.

i actually believe in the generosity that can bring a better balance to the community, but it is clear that there are some who believe in self gratification. this event is meant to create a social balance that rewards players for participating. that participation shouldn't be penalized from someone else's ignorance. and it should not be undermined by being purely unlucky to recieve from an empty prize pool.

but hey, you guys apparently get what you want from it so why should you care about anyone else right? its perfect for you. its only bad when someone "suggests" change to what works for you but not everyone else. the selfish nature is one that works for the few and not the whole as it stands. Merry Christmas!

Donating millions or tens of millions of gp won't get somebody anything better than 100k for a lamp or 10k for a random gift exchange ticket. How is it not generosity, especially when they don't donate as much as 200 mil gp for the Top Secret Santa they can show off?

You can always donate just 10k worth of junk each day, and claim a prize once every 2 hours. The chance is you will get 10k worth of junk once, plus more random junk, and there is a smaller chance you will get 200 mil+ gp worth of good prize.
Dilbert2001 said: How would that ruin anybody's experience? We all have the choices to donate or not, as well as to claim our prizes more than once or not. This is similar to the traditional Christmas Gift Exchange IRL. A lot of players are happy to do that.

Personally, I only cared to get donate 200 mil gp to get the cool title for an alt, and the "200 mil gp" I donated actually came totally free from Oils of Enhancement from the last DXP Token Store paying absolutely 0 gp and doing absolutely nothing other than the usual DXP activities.

My main character also got the title last year, and I don't even care to donate anything.

I have another character AFK skilling in Santa Village but no desire to buy a title for, so I just donated 10k worth of junk.... like 1 elder log each day and check in a few times when I feel like it and see if I win 200 mil+ gp worth of gift. I didn't win anything big as the most valuable gift I received was a 380k Vecna Skull but that was more than I expected anyway.
I just got 3,333,333 gp from Not-so-secret-Santa today in exchange for my gift of one elder log yesterday. :)

so you say you believe in generosity and believe others are for self gratification. these comments right here signify greed in game. this is the rebalance i am talking about.

it is clear that this activity can benefit the greedy alot more than the community as a whole and these comments are proof. thank you for highlighting my point of how unbalanced and unfair this community activity is.

therefor i no longer need to comment on this thread as it is in constant subject of comments by the greedy. enjoy your holiday. Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas and congratulations to those who win big. I personally was hoping that the gp I donate, would go to players that don't have a whole lot of wealth in the game. It would require I imagine a bit of time to run a query to find them but that would really exemplify the true spirit of giving and a great way to handle it. Random is fine and it is the way the world turns, I guess.

When someone donated 65 mil gp of worth of items and expect only 10k worth of item in return, how is it greed?

It is true the greedy people do get more instead of the generosity.

Even you confirm this dilbert.

I agree they should balance this way better.
Claiming just once a day is a great start for example.

There must be generous people to donate more first, before "greedy" people can get more. That's exactly what balance is. It is great that RS3 has generous players that other games may only have poor farmers.

I know what there currently is, but that's not the point.

The point is currently you can only donate once a day and claim every 2 hours something.
This is out of balance ofc.

Balance is literally a equal of both sides.
Currently there is no balance in this system.

If there is please explain this to us dilbert short and without you're well known political twisting words.
Just short and easy quick answer.
