I have to mess about like this too! If I could remove items directly from the box, I'd just use up the wood spirits so that they never go into my bank. As it is, I have to spend ages messing about just to get them out.
It's not as if they are used from within the box either, you have to get them out to make use of them!
May I remind you we have bank preset in RS3. It is just a matter of seconds to not find, but load out your favorite WC setup.
Well, unless I've misunderstood how the bank preset works, that's not my issue.
I have no spare capacity in my bank so, when I want to bank the wood box, I either have to have enough space to also empty to box into or not use what's in the box.
So, for example, if I have magic logs and wood spirits, the logs will empty into the bank as I already have some logs in there but the spirits will remain in the box but unaccessible.
If I want to use the wood spirits, I have to make as many empty spaces I can by removing some items, bank the box, then take out the wood spirits (or logs if they aren't the type I store in my bank). That then clears the box if I've made enough space or I might have to repeat it to fully empty the box
If there is a way of using bank presets to remove wood spirits from the wood box without removing/making space/re-banking, then I'd be happy for anyone to point me in the right direction
