Or I guess they call it Fort Forinthry now. We can work on that.

First impressions are important and I call this a win. The process is user friendly. Preparing the materials is quick. They could have added unnecessary delays but this is a much better experience than watching non-action.

I feel like I am doing something useful, rather than being toyed with, if you catch my meaning.

The actual construction is the game finally accepting just how skilled I am. I am doing a fantastic job with my palace. If this trend continues maybe some day I can hop across a stream that is only 2 inches deep. Or climb over some unfortunately placed log or small rock. Dreamers.

I have lots of work to do but I am digging it. I've heard rumors that I might increase my ports success rate eventually.

That's just unfair to the other port owners. There is no way they can compete now.

I just realized the xp bonus for an optimal hotspot starts at 100% then drops as you click on the wrong station. That's a bit different than expected, but I like it. There's something about the psychology that works for me.

Also, I gotta say I definitely prefer the dark grey colors vs the light grey rocks. I like my game dark but well lit. It looks good.

Edit: I reckon I just found a typo. It asks me how I should be addressed and it seems they mis-spelled Emperor Of The Universe.

As an activity I absolutely adore it. It gives some actual reason to max out construction, and it has some nice rewards. Experience rates are not really competitive to any other established method, but it's certainly a nice one-timed extra - with more to come in the future. With building the wall in the quest they probably went a bit overboard, but other than that - I can't complain.

In general it's not the first time you can improve activities by doing other content. Turn it around, the command centre is basically useless if you haven't unlocked any of those features, so they highly benefit from one another, which is cool - the very same thing for the workshop. Town hall and chapel aren't too useful for me, but welp - they address different kinds of players.

Just finish all tier 3 buildings (lots of work but its worth it)

LOVED IT !!! This place is what we skillers were missing a real skiller hub with all almost all skills in one place , though why 2 heat furnaces? Why not only 1 heat furnace and a craft table so we can work with clay?

The ports boost is real. I also got more workers for Anachronia.

It's almost hard to believe, I have been dealing with that content on a daily basis, ports for years. I never thought they would boost either of them.

It's a good thing too, I have been burning through my scrimshaws of vampyrism. I was starting to get concerned, especially when those long voyages fail so often.

I like it when they called the new achievement for the Comp Cape;

A Fort of
My Own
.

Two thumbs up to Players Owned Fort over the outdated POH.

I am really looking forward to seeing the many new buildings and new skilling and combat updates Jagex said are on the way in the new Fort over different patches the Infernal Puzzle Box way.

I am also happy to see the multi-faceted Sawmill Operator Bill getting promoted to Architect of the Fort. :)

I did run into one slight problem. Upon returning to the camp later, I realized there is no reason for me to go there.

That's not ideal, so I need bait. A very obvious form of bait is Wilderness Flash Events teleport.

We could invite the NPC's from Edgeville over for a cup of tea, then lock the gates. Easy.

"A very obvious form of bait is Wilderness Flash Events teleport."

I'm going to use this as a point of 'constructive' feedback. A learning point, as if I was a teacher.

NOT including this was a big mistake. Just from watching the stream when they were talking about the tables, I had to rewind it. I wouldn't go to the fort for those activities because I need to visit the locations regardless. My young apprentice Meg would be so lonely.

I rewound the tape to see if they said Wilderness Flash Events teleport. Seeing they did not, I immediately ran off to future updates to suggest it.

Why that specific thing? There is an idle period before the events where you need to travel to Edgeville, and can't really do anything else. I either farm grapes, chop random logs or do some crafting. Others seem to go straight to the event, which is very dangerous. When I go early it can spawn an army that will wipe you out in 2 hits.

That idle time is a perfect opportunity to engage with the fort, which just happens to be located along the wilderness wall, same as the 2 existing NPC's. It's just down the street. It's possible if I climbed to the top and yelled, they would hear me and come over.

The point of learning is this: did the devs consider this feature as valuable bait? Did they decide AGAINST that? Will they now write the correct answer on a chalkboard 500 times, or better yet clone the NPC's and hotfix them in place?

If it wasn't considered, do you now see the strong connection, of how it should have been a 'no-brainer?' It's fixing a minor problem in a big way and using that to strengthen new content.

Edit: maybe a TLDR question: if you made the flash events now and were considering the teleport location, would you put it at the fort?

The flash events idea is interesting from a game mechanical perspective, but unfitting for two reasons - lorewise the civil war is over for some time already, so those events do no longer actually occur - just for us ingame to reap our rewards. Secondly - the fort is built to protect misthalin from zamorakians, you wouldn't want to invite them right here.

As it currently stands I am visiting the fort once daily right now - to top up my invention machines and harvest whatever they've generated (but that basically just saves me going to the actual guild). Issue is - neither you nor me have use for the facilities it offers right now. I do not want to train prayer due to being maxed, I am not interested in the bxp the town hall generates for being there due to being maxed and I do not really use the various tables. I certainly can see using the Miscellania feature once weekly - but certainly not a reason for me to continously return. At most the workshop could be a nice place for some activities - the furnace is closer to a bank than any other furnace right now - so if you want to cast jewellery - why not there? Probably likewise for the other things. Dunno. I mean they basically said we'll be able to extend the fort further in the future - so maybe it's just an issue for now?
