They might as well make an Artisan Workshop mirror like they do with the multiple G.E.s.

I personally don't use the Fort's Inventor's Bench as I'm so use to using my Grace of the Elves teleport to Inventor's Guild. I do go to the Artisan Workshop as there's really no point to smithing outside the Workshop besides Brawling Gloves in the wilderness.

I would probably smith in the Fort if this happens.

You still would rather smith in the AW, since they also would need to replicate the luminite feature. I guess it's decent enough for a quick daily challenge, while checking for your other facilities in there.

The luminite "feature" only provides a +1 base progress bonus.

I'm already +6 without it: Smithing Cape and being 99 Smithing. That extra +1 I'm missing out on is inconsequential compared to the rested bonus XP you accumulate from smithing in the Fort as opposed to the Artisan's Workshop.

As an afterthought, Jagex could introduce a single luminite pipe that ran in the floor from the actual furnace and branched off to the heat forges or something, which means people could use injectors at the Fort if they really really really wanted to....

It's one additional point of progress per swing - so 21 vs. 20 - or well, whatever base you have if you superheat with every single swing. Which allows you to smith faster and grants you 1/20 more of whatever base xp the item smithed is giving to you - for every single swing.

Obviously ignoring synergy effects with percentage based effects like the crystal hammer, the rapid perk or the masterstroke powerburst, which increase the effect times 2, 2 and 10 respectively whenever they activate or are used.

On the other hand the t3 townhall generates something around 106 bxp per minute while being there, under the assumption you're using it for a level 99 skill. Depending on what you're smithing you certainly lose more for forgoing the luminite boost - but I guess it's elder rune, so certainly yeah. Especially considering you're using a sweaty method, which includes superheating your item with every single swing.
Improvements: Tooltip / (F2P) QoL v2
