I have to agree with what you have posted.

Whilst it's not an unobtainable amount to receive for most players, it is much harder for the non-combatants to achieve - particularly those that have played for a number of years.

Yes, it has made me do some achievements that I have not yet gotten around to doing. However, I am now put off from doing achievements because I may need to save them for the next event that requires me to gain runescore.

I managed to scrape together 205 points (last achievement gave me 25 points), but I will struggle to do the same in future events unless more achievements are added, or the threshold is reduced for automatic redemption.

As a skiller, I still have access to other avenues so it's not a major blocker this time round, but this is not to say the runescore won't be a blocker in future events.

Correct and a very obvious point most players failed to see. We have a chance to obtain a shard from a specific category, Runescores included. Just that we are guaranteed the Runescore shard with 31k Runescores absolutely doesn't mean we have to get to 31k Runescores to get a drop.

I don't think there was a runescore for the new quest so cannot be from that unless they upgraded some of the buildings from before. You do get a shard for doing the first quest but that's different from runescore shard. It's about 95 runescore for total fort upgrades and 13 chances but none of it counts if you did it beforehand. Killing the boss once after the quest would have given a runescore so could be from that and even that is different from the shard you get for your first kill.

We probably get a chance in obtaining a shard from completing features specific a category, regardless how much xp or how many or 0 Runescores those features give.
