> Polls hadn't been common for a while, so seeing them is generally going to make players that like voicing their opinion happier simply out of the understanding that the opportunity hasn't been around all that often.

> Player excitement about polls is an indicator of the community and the development team sharing a generally good feeling about the game itself. If players are feeling good about their ability to leave suggestions for content and feel like Jagex often enough takes those opinions into account, then the polls have value. The opposite happens if, too often, Jagex ignores the poll results and treads their own path, because then players will invariably feel like the company couldn't care less about how they feel, even if they bother to ask.

> Polls provide a means for players to interact with the development team directly. Even on our side of the community, where Jagex is given most of the creative liberty, players being able to answer questions from the company and provide input on a more regular basis builds trust between the two groups. Utilizing polls, and improving other direct means of communication with players (the newspost. Maybe one day.) facilitates this connection and can be integral to any MMO's success.

While I don't think Jagex has erased my concerns about how it communicates with us just yet, I can definitely agree that things have certainly improved since the arrival of Mod Doom, and that gives -me- excitement about the future of the game.

Now, if when they do these polls, they are able to have all of the details in place beforehand, and notify the community of any potential changes when the first poll is released, a lot of the issues we saw with the Retro Override polling would be addressed. That's the company's next step.

Relatively tame poll regarding content that will likely never concern me, the Trimmed Comp poll.

> I do think the "trimmed" version of the cape should involve having interacted with all supplementary lore, dedication to completing long-term content such as Treasure Trails, and indicate a modicum of PvM skill.

> I voted "Yes" to renaming the capes for the following reasons (not beholden to it).

1. I like playing with nomenclature where it may provide valuable context.

2. I think you can better explain one cape shows "sufficient interaction with all content" versus "mastered all content." Either the completionist cape can seem like it gives its wearers too much credit for their accomplishments, or the trimmed cape doesn't give its wearers enough laud.

An example I can think of is something like this:

Untrimmed Completionist Cape > the Virtuoso's Cape.

Trimmed -becomes- the Completionist Cape.

A "virtuoso" is someone who is accomplished with trained ability. A "completionist" is someone who "completes" the content to the fullest extent.

This leaves terminology people understand for the best accomplishment cape, while still giving laud to those who show the promise to contend for the best accomplishment cape by meeting the easier prerequisites.

My opinion, which may be unpopular, is that I really think the idea of a Completionist Cape was stupid to begin with. I prefer seeing people, doing all content, without being maxed. So I think Completionist was just a big brag cape. Hey look, I am maxed out and can do all content. I think we should of stuck with the idea of a Quest Cape and Trimmed Quest Cape for doing extra content. Oh and Trimmed Comp doesn't even require all content. It totally ignores risk based Pk.
