On the bigger picture is COMBAT rebalance, not just necromancy, and definitely not just about fighting one mob like Nex.

I think their strategy is to "nerf" necromancy first but only temporary. Then we will see Necromancy getting buffed when they add new Necromancy content, perhaps as soon as next months with new bosses, abilities, talents and other stuff.

Then they look at the other 3 regular combat skills and rebalance them accordingly, and gradually adding in Necromancy style features, including skill trees for each of Melee, Ranged and Magic.

This nerf, even if it's temporary is so frustrating.

Instead of planning ahead, and saying "Hmm if necro goes to 120, we should probably have the other 120s ready shortly after that to ensure consistency among combat styles", they said "welp, we'll just nerf it and make it unplayable in the meantime to bring the power down to match 99s"

Now instead of having one satisfying combat style in the meantime, we have to wait for ALL COMBAT styles to be fixed.

For those who also play other similar modern games, they should know combat is being rebalanced in every update (not every week as most games do it like every 2 or 3 months). Being developed based on Diablo 2, it is not hard to see RS3 going their modern game combat rebalancing route.

That said, don't expect one combat style, regardless it is Necromancy or the other 3 to be overpower or underpower forever. I believe going forward, the combat pendulum will swing from time to time. Omid just compared it to Apex Legends he also plays in his livestream today that way.

I did another round at Nex and while the times were slower, it's totally relaxed. I have the adrenaline available to crush the blood phase using T90 tank armor. I can also improve the times and I have been.

More adrenaline and more uptime for the conjures also got me a best time at Black Stone Dragon in ED2. I only have T80 power armor but it was no problem at all for defense in ED2.

On the other hand, the first monster I fought was Helwyr and I just did a Vindicta reaper task. For whatever reason both of them were wrecking me in power armor.

Also, short battles like GWD1 are more enjoyable. Constantly despawning the summons and then calling them back 1 at a time was super annoying.

I also don't have Zuk cape or any of the Necromancer items. So I am just going bare bones with some rather weak invention perks. There is plenty of room to improve and I'm sure the upcoming adjustment will be pretty awesome, even though it is small.

I want to test Zuk afterwards, I lucked into 1 kill using magic, so there is some hope I can weasel my way into a cape that I don't actually want to wear. :P

these idiots stole ideas from cod. release an op af skill to get people in the game. get streamers to compliment it so simps will join the game. wait til everyone gets used to it then nerf it into irrelevance and hope those people stay for the bs holiday crap and promise new better content soon. t90 necro hits like t50. i do the exact same damage without elder overload salves as i do with them. the conjures are literally useless. they literally could have just left it the hell alone and buffed the other cb styles...but its jagex and theyre stupid. i literally dont know why i was surprised....they couldnt run a game properly if bill gates made it and all they had to do was press enter...time for another 9 year hiatus

Tried it briefly and I like the new Necromancy conjures, although I love the buffs to the other 3 combat styles.

Melee rocks, ranged is great but depends on RNG and can work wonder with luck on ruby(e) procs. Mage seems to be getting the least buffs but I think they said they are reworking its lesser used ultimate abilities so we'll see, and the base crit if you have FSOA and of course higher levels.

New Necromancy items coming in just 3 weeks and it will be buffed again, but I still have 3 weeks to play with Melee and Ranged more. New ranged gear coming in 3 weeks too, so perhaps Ranged will take over as the best combat style as the next meta?
