AFAIK, ironman can get protean items. I believe I have gotten them from the Maw and other places too.

We, meaning all of us and not ironmen or "ironicmen", have more than just the Maw to get protean items. We also get plenty of them from many events. Besides, ironically the person I replied to talked about ironmen, not level 3's. He is certainly not level 3.
The OP is the person you replied to, and he is a level 3. As an iron account I do not know of any events that gave us protean items, only Maw.
OP with level 38 strength is a level 3????
Even if they were "level 3" on other accounts, they wouldn't be able to access chop teaks and magohany the old school way in Karamja anyway.

Sorry yes you right, I only saw his hp and he said 1 skill at a time not level 3, I still don't think he has access to elf city.
Edit: Level 3's can do teaks near castle wars and desert before the update but I could be wrong again. No mahogany before this week and that what this thread was about.

He didn't complain about access to whatever place or whatever level he is. He only mentioned his "headaches" of obtaining mahogany planks. He then said he is "iron" which he never said a thing about on OP.
Whatever way he or anybody, ironman or not, level 3 or not, can obtain protean items, including protean planks and logs (which they can convert to planks), that they can use as Mahagony planks through different events (Maw is just one of many examples).
